Everything is Tracked

Post by kazardaimenu »

Way more packets are coming in tracked now. Used to be a dozen or two a side now it’s around 80. If they are serious about clearing tracked and first class on alternate days they’ll have to start prioritising t24s as there are too many tracked 48s in the pipe.

They can't as when the T48s arrive at a DO they are due for delivery that day. The difference is built into when they are dispatched from the outward MC to the inward MC. T24 and 1C is dispatched the same day it arrives at the outward MC, T48 and 2C is dispatched the next day. Chances are that big firms have some sort of automated system in place to check that all the T24 and T48 items they dispatch are delivered on time, they'll be claiming for any that aren't.

For the dispatch of Tracked that's either flats or letters, they are now starting to be dispatched in trays, with purple tray labels. There's that many Tracked letters and flats coming through now.

The more tracked, the less letters we have to deliver. It’s great :chuckle

Maybe it will reach a point where it makes sense to make the walks smaller and achievable again so that our ever increasing amount of tracked items can comfortably get delivered on time 🤔

Alternatively you take all the parcels off the walkers and make delivery a part time job.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I don't think it'll be too long before there's a massive increase in the number of Tracked letters and flats.

What are the Tracked items that don't require a photo classed as?

They don't have the usual RM code ending in GB but the label says Tracked

I'd prefer it the other way around. We're spending the last few years of the existence of letters, and therefore our social and economic relevance, not delivering them. Makes sense to have the small packets piggyback on the letter delivery network. Radiators (plural) not so much.
The machine stops.

We get told to bring back tracked 48 parcels over first class letters. Scan them as delivery not attempted at the end of the shift.

Last time we had to many I said to the manager "why should we scan them as ready for delivery when we know we won't end up delivering them, as the customer might wait in all day for them them at 3:30pm get a message saying delivery not attempted." He just said he's been told that's how we have to do it.

That's an interesting approach for a company that's intent on expanding their parcels business, it's more like the actions of someone who doesn't want the work going out of their way to provide a shite service.

I can't see the sending customers accepting that as standard procedure. 😂
