Might be one of the salary sacrifice benefits in 'Rachel from accounts' sights according to media speculation (or pre-emptive Govt. leaks)....

Re: Cycle to work.
I can't imagine many RM employees paying £4,000 for a bike to ride to work? I can't say I disagree with the proposed changes and also limiting the type of cars which can be purchased under Motability scheme.yellowbelly wrote: ↑15 Nov 2025, 13:35Might be one of the salary sacrifice benefits in 'Rachel from accounts' sights according to media speculation (or pre-emptive Govt. leaks)....

Problem is all want a decent NHS scheme, probably posties more than most, then complain when we have to pay extra taxes to pay for it.

Re: Cycle to work.
At the risk of digressing too much, the tax relief and range of vehicles available on Motability should stay roughly as they are. What needs to change, undoubtedly, is the threshold needs to be raised to make sure only people who genuinely have mobility needs qualify for the scheme. It seems like it has become too easy to qualify, and that is probably why the cost to the taxpayer is so high.TopperGas wrote: ↑16 Nov 2025, 10:15I can't imagine many RM employees paying £4,000 for a bike to ride to work? The problem with removing the tax relief currently available and/or other changes proposed mean it will be hard/impossible to get a wheelchair-accessible vehicle on the scheme. It will be punishing genuinely disabled people and depriving them of mobility, freedom and dignity.

Re: Cycle to work.
Cycle to Work scheme hasn't been available for Royal Mail employees for months now. Nothing to do with the endless right-wing media scaremongering about what Rachel Reeves will or won't do next week.

Re: Cycle to work.
It's been closed since the start of the year at least. I emailed My Bundle in June and asked when it was going to reopen but they said it had nothing to do with them so I contacted RMG Benefits who told me there was "no timescale" and to just keep checking.

Re: Cycle to work.
If your a new starter forget it, when I started 15mths ago it was still open, but I couldn't apply as it would of taken me below the national minimum wage, that's how low we are paid, doubt it will change much if it restarts with the £3 extra a day I got!
