A quote from the article: "The only reason that competitors aren't interested in doing the work of Britain's posties is because its unprofitable but business post is another matter, and there are no shortage of franchised postal delivery services - more spring up every week."

And that is the whole point. Who, allowed our profitable business to be given away? In any well run business ( Private) the C.E.O`S would be screaming like mad! if they were left in a situation such, that the only way to maintain the bottom line (Profit) was to reduce people, without the ability to also set a `market
bearing` bottom line!

In any business there are TWO WAYS to make a profit! reduce costs/ increase prices. (you also need a good product, which we have, its called a service!who provides it? we as Posties)

Are we allowed to set our prices as a company? To make a `fair profit`The answer is NO. Therefore the 2 Al`s have elected to reduce costs in the only fashion THEY CAN SEE.

Instead of `fighting` their case (this would mean, they would have to `argue` with the People who employ them!) which, they would have to DO in the `Real Business World` They have elected to take the easy way! Who will pay for this approach? we will, with ever more increasing work, when there are less of US!

If We had no Union! the 2 Al`s would already have reduced the number of employees in this company by HUGE NUMBERS. To stop this approach we all need to wote Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
