Bringing tracked 48 back
I'm sure with christmas approaching im going to have to start bringing tracked 48 back (considering 1st class now takes priority over them) what do you scan them as when you get back to the office?

There will be if he follows what u said as it’s totally wrong.
Deliver not attempted is the correct scan. There was even a briefing send out to managers afew weeks back telling them to make sure everybody is using the correct scan - not attempted.

Re: Bringing tracked 48 back
I don't get this as surely the difference between tracked 24 and 48 is the time allocated from sending to delivery so the extra 24 hours is swallowed up by taking longer to move through our network due to 24 given priority therefore when a T48 item hits the delivery office it's status is exactly the same as a 24 as it's already taken the extra 24 hrs to get there ?

Re: Bringing tracked 48 back
Does though, as I've had plenty of customers over the years say "I wasn't expecting this until tomorrow"?

Re: Bringing tracked 48 back
T24 is dispatched to the inward MC the same day (Day 1) that it arrives at the outward MC. The inward MC dispatches it to the DO during the night for delivery the day (Day 2) after it entered RM's network.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑11 Oct 2025, 23:15I don't get this as surely the difference between tracked 24 and 48 is the time allocated from sending to delivery so the extra 24 hours is swallowed up by taking longer to move through our network due to 24 given priority therefore when a T48 item hits the delivery office it's status is exactly the same as a 24 as it's already taken the extra 24 hrs to get there ?

EVERYTHING is due for delivery the day that it arrives at the DO. When the DTS releases any 2C mech for sequencing, that 2C is due for delivery the day it arrives at the DO.
The delivery of 2C every other day only applies in the trial offices, for all other offices anything that arrives at the DO is due for delivery that day. MCs have been sending 1C and 2C manual letters and flats in separate trays for a while now. In DOs I believe that, if it ever gets rolled out nationally, you'll have separate IPS frames for 1C and 2C, with only walks that have got a 2C delivery that day having the 2C go over to the walk prep frame.

Spot on. The days of work being classified by class are over. Anything due delivery that day is the workload that day.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025, 01:46T24 is dispatched to the inward MC the same day (Day 1) that it arrives at the outward MC. You're right that 1c and T24 take priority over T48 items but don't make that decision yourself unless you are informed to do so beforehand.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Make sure that you get the manager to put their decision into writing, so you cover your ass in case the s**t hits the fan.postslippete wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025, 10:10

Zero chance of us getting that in the delivery world we work in, I'll be surprised if it any different in your MC world.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025, 10:20Make sure that you get the manager to put their decision into writing, so you cover your ass in case the s**t hits the fan.postslippete wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025, 10:10

Especially when it's already been scanned to core route. The customer receives confirmation it's heading out on delivery... only to then get a message five or so hours later saying it'll have to wait another day.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025, 01:46EVERYTHING is due for delivery the day that it arrives at the DO.
It used to be you avoided adding non-Tracked items to core route because you'd be locked in to delivering them. Now we can't even guarantee the holy Tracked clear.
The machine stops.

Never going to happen unless a manager wants to play Russian roulette with their p45. Everything is done verbally and delivery staff need to be very careful bringing any Tracked items back and scanning them as undelivered.

Re: Bringing tracked 48 back
A good few times the mangers will be too busy doing posties work. Personally I think by doing that they're making a nice business case for RM to turn them all into "Team Leaders".TopperGas wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025, 12:37Zero chance of us getting that in the delivery world we work in, I'll be surprised if it any different in your MC world.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025, 10:20Make sure that you get the manager to put their decision into writing, so you cover your ass in case the s**t hits the fan.postslippete wrote: ↑12 Oct 2025, 10:10
