Parcel Force Parcels
Can anyone throw some light as to why delivery offices aligned to the Chelmsford PF depot are still delivering massive parcels which we were told was being taken on by PF in July, will it happen ?

The realignment of traffic equates to about 3 oversize items per duty.geordieboy123 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025, 18:34Can anyone throw some light as to why delivery offices aligned to the Chelmsford PF depot are still delivering massive parcels which we were told was being taken on by PF in July, will it happen ?

Re: Parcel Force Parcels
I thought that was something to do with RM doing PF collections rather than PF doing our deliveries? Not I've seen any official announcement regarding tomorrow's changes?ted_e_bear wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025, 18:57I'm pretty sure it's been posted on here that it officially starts tomorrow Monday 11th

Re: Parcel Force Parcels
I only acquired the knowledge from a PF driver on my route we’ve heard nothing from management whatsoever but others on here have said that it’s started in their offices and actually gave the size of parcels that PF are taking from RM. With the size of some of these parcels it’s going to be a nightmare at Xmas especially with the small vans.

Re: Parcel Force Parcels
A list of PF depots appeared on here somewhere and Chelmsford was scheduled to start on 7 July but when I spoke to the PF driver he said there was a backlog of of nearly 3000 parcels stacked up at the depot but he had a load of RM parcels now.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025, 18:57I'm pretty sure it's been posted on here that it officially starts tomorrow Monday 11th

Re: Parcel Force Parcels
The usual criteria applies. Parcelforce are not taking every oversize item.A2B wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025, 21:27So if you're the wrong side of the average?tramssirhc wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025, 19:43The realignment of traffic equates to about 3 oversize items per duty.geordieboy123 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025, 18:34Can anyone throw some light as to why delivery offices aligned to the Chelmsford PF depot are still delivering massive parcels which we were told was being taken on by PF in July, will it happen ?

Re: Parcel Force Parcels
Parcelforce switchover was today mon 11th aug.
Hopefully should see a marked drop off in these heavy amazon grocery large parcels.
We had 10 yorks full racked up last night to go out to parcelforce this morning from the MC
Give it a week and see what happens.

Re: Parcel Force Parcels
Also getting killed on collections now with large PF items to collect at most PO's, you sense work is just being transferred in form PF and not a lot is going the other way in exchange.

It's all going to fall apart in the autumn when collections start failing due to vans becoming full.

Happing all ready at ours . We are regularly leaving stuff as vans are full. It's pretty quiet at the moment. Goodness knows what will happen when I gets busy.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Aug 2025, 21:17It's all going to fall apart in the autumn when collections start failing due to vans becoming full.

Re: Parcel Force Parcels
The obvious thing to do is make consumer collect a duty in itself rather than burdening the delivery staff but that’s to straight forward for Royal Mail.
