CWU No.2 showing some guts and recommends NO vote..
At a committee meeting dated 14 July 2025 Scotland No 2 Branch voted against recommending the Negotiators Agreement reached on 29 June 2025. While we appreciate that the financial aspect of this agreement is what has been expected for some time given the current state of the business, we were disappointed that there were no steps towards harmonisation of our colleagues on the inferior terms and conditions imposed by Royal Mail during the last dispute. As a Branch we feel that our strength lies in our unity and collectivity and this is harmed by having a two-tier work force.
We are well aware that there are stages leading to harmonisation within the EP
Agreement reached in December 2024 but feel that the spirit of this Agreement is not being met, at present, by Royal Mail with the continuation of preparations being made for USO Reform when promises are being made by EP Group that deployment will be put on hold until all issues highlighted in the Pilot Sites have been remedied and full agreement reached. This is clearly not the case in the field with members being asked to pick duty patterns, preparation work taking place and being told the change is coming in regardless. It is unclear how a future ballot on a USO Reform agreement can be effective when changes are already being put in place.
We have not made this decision lightly but are deeply concerned by the apparent disconnect between EP Group and Royal Mail and would, therefore, be more confident moving forward if detailed steps and timescales for harmonisation and a more positive working relationship with Royal Mail around any USO Reform were in place, reassuring us of the sincerity of the commitments made in the EP Agreement, before voting Yes on any agreement.
Ultimately, it is the membership who will decide, as always, but the most important thing is that you use your vote.

A lot of workers are sick of the fight now, and just want something extra in the pay not in 6 or 12 months time if the battle goes on and on.

It’s that approach which guarantees your pay and conditions will always be dragging along the bottom.

Alternatively fight on and on and end up with the same outcome....with something else added on to your workload?

Who in their right mind says yes to the first offer?

Problem is, it seemed like a hell of a lot of people hated the strikes we had previously, so are likely to vote yes rather than this drag on and potentially lead to another set of strikes.

What's the ratio of old contract v new contract working at RM now?

Oh, pray tell what the other offers were?

Regardless, It's the first offer that has been put to me and I reject it. Its not enough. We are £3k poorer due to the last batch of pay rises being completely outmatched by inflation. Not only that, that last pay deal we had to surrender our sick pay as well.

Is there an LTB version of this?
