Negotiations updates gone quiet

Post by dazer0070 »

So where are we exactly with updates on the negotiations?

All gone very quiet indeed since the last update. Nothing at all, a blackout some would say. Is it really a possibility that we don’t hear anything until closer to the Sept deadline!?

They missed 3 self given deadlines and then realised that people were getting fed up with a Thursday/Friday update of an update of an update, so they moved to the 3-6 month timescale to buy more time.

Everyone should just temporarily cancel their union payments until they start communicating will their members! They seem to forget who actually pays them! Cancelled my payments and they won't be getting another penny until everything is sorted. If we all did the same they would buckle after a week!

Unfortunately those at the top hold utter contempt for us and the union can do nothing about it. Don’t expect anything to be announced anytime soon. The silence is deafening.

If everyone cancelled their subs would the CWU even be in a position to negotiate with the company?

Does RM even take any notice of what the union says/does these days?

Totally 100% Agree
These people at the top of every organisation cwu included are only motivated and care about their over inflated salaries never thought i would ever say that after being such a strong supporter and defender of this union for 35 years
But after that last shamefull agreement they asked us to vote yes to my support is fast dissapearing and i am close to pulling my subs it is my opnion that behind the scenes we are all been sold down the river as we speak

If that were to happen it would be a major hit to the executive. They would I fear limp along, whilst still gleaning their substantial pay packets from the others that they claim to represent.
They are managing their own decline and pay packets , which is inevitable . This is a fight that they threw the towel in, not us. They know that they have nothing to offer, no bargaining power left at all.
The other bodies they represent should keep a keen eye on them. For us, it's over.

It interesting that DW CBE left it to is Deputy to put his name to the update? It seems even today in a number of offices it's still full steam ahead for the start of the ODM later this summer.
