So December.. before pay rise ?

Post by roadrunner bill »

I don't know what to believe on this site... or what the union are saying... nor what royal mail are saying....

Everything just seems lies.... deceit and false information...

One minute everything will be agreed this week... the next it's changed again... talks are continuing..... update after update..

What the hell is going on...... 😳

I would prefer to have conditions! what use is a few extra quid in the wage slip to get an unachievable shift everyday!

Most of us on delivery have had a daily unachievable workload for years at this point.

Didn't the union say that the USO reform would not be agreed until all they are fighting for is agreed including payrise?
So technically the reform won't happen just yet although it will.😏

yeah unachievable and its only going get worse, back breaking, double mail to finish some of us off as soon as this uso new way of working comes in, increased fatigue on delivery with double mail, more delivery points ,extended walks, but yeah some are just interested in an extra couple of quid in the wages

You don’t have to achieve anything, just start and finish on time and take your breaks , it’s really that easy .

I'm not surprised people are questioning everything, but it's undeniable that the CWU have misled the members on the timescale of getting this years pay deal over the line.
Back in December 2024 there was a much trumpeted 'groundbreaking deal with EP group' - this was said to be ready to go as soon as EP group took over.
The CWU on countless occasions quelled any grumbles about a pay deal not being forthcoming due to the political situation in Romania causing a delay in EP group being given the green light to takeover. They made a big deal about this, remember. Since then there has been 3 deadlines given by the CWU which have came and gone, the reasons being that they have knocked back several pay offers, with the latest being around the rate of inflation. This again kept people onside as it made them think, ok just a few more days and we will have a 4% backdated payrise. Then the hammer blow this week that they only NOW, THIS WEEK have started formal talks with EP group. But don't worry it will be between 3 and 6 months, but probably sooner.
I'm just surprised they haven't used the war angle again, they used the Ukraine/Russia conflict a few years ago, remember?

Usually the way it goes

Can kicked down the road for months then by the time its put to us the backdated lumpsum makes it look better than it is and gets it over the line
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
