Re: Over 50s
Age being a protected characteristic something like that would be unlawful. It will be and should remain seniority based.

Re: Over 50s
Clearly the humans running the business have no conscience or duty of care towards delivery staff..
Clearly heartless and souless...

They should look at making walks easier for over 50s. Even if was to take an hour off the outdoor part and you get an hour less pay.

Re: Over 50s
I don't understand the obsession with age, some of our over 50s are fitter than people much younger than them. And as has already been said, seniority rules.

Re: Over 50s
Exactly.
Someone could be in their late forties with 30 years of wear and tear doing the job, but someone 53 with 20 years service gets VR first?

Re: Over 50s
Someone that's 54 that has done 3 years service gets a 1 year redundancy pay off over someone who is 48 who has done 30 years service....
this is a crazy idea.

Re: Over 50s
People need to start getting realistic with VR's.
If the office you work is understaffed it isn't happening which I reckon is about 99%.

Re: Over 50s
Agreed.
I thought the ODM was a predominantly full time model.
If part timers are being made up to full time then I thought it was impossible to justify any VRs in the unit?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Over 50s
You seriously think VR will be offered?
We are overstaffed and have just shipped some of our newer starters to an office that is understaffed. When changes happen we will have the correct number of staff and there will be no need for VR.
Expect staff to be shifted to another office to even things out

Re: Over 50s
There won’t be any VR’s, there will be enough people leaving when the changes come in. If you want a pay off, go sick for six months, then leave. That’s the best you’ll get.

Re: Over 50s
People seem to be pinning all of their hopes on getting out on VR with £££'s, it's a pipe dream.
The lucky ones ( if that is the right word) are who have been able to get on IHR.
