Frighteningly quiet today. It's a week before Xmas and that was probably the quietest delivery I've had all year
Best make the most of it, and brace myself for tomorrow

Same. Keep thinking that there MUST be a backlog somewhere that's going to hit any day now.HeilMoya wrote:Frighteningly quiet today. It's a week before Xmas and that was probably the quietest delivery I've had all yearBest make the most of it, and brace myself for tomorrow

Same here, so quiet, just like before a storm.bobthepostie wrote:Same. Keep thinking that there MUST be a backlog somewhere that's going to hit any day now.HeilMoya wrote:Frighteningly quiet today. Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Just like a normal day today - finished just before time even with a pre P&L large parcel run by my walk buddy - still it gives us a breathing space before the imminent card and parcel storm. Office looks good - the extra parcel duties have done a great job and using experienced IPS staff in early and then halving their trolley walks with the reserves has got the rest of us out earlier too. Still gone into the dark on a few afternoons but hey ho ho ho - it's Christmas and this is what we do for a living. Day off tomorrow but going in for four hours IPS and walk prep support and then off to Wetherspoons for a big breakfast and then some last minute (non internet) Christmas shopping.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

Today and yesterday were not too bad. I've got a really bad feeling about tomorrow though, and with the bad weather its gonna be hell out there.

Packets where a bit quieter today (only took a york of them out today) but I heard the NIMC is packed out with packets that they can't get sorted............don't know if it's true but if it is then we're in for a bad couple of days.

Luckily enough, despite not posting my first letter until 10.30 I still managed to finish on time.loverman shabba wrote:Barbel wrote:Got in at 8 to find the fitting 6ft high with parcels and nothing thrown in.

Boxes on collection were Full, but not filled to Overflowing as they have been.
Must be the 2nd class last-day tomoz info filtering thro maybe, or they gonna gave a last-day/last-gasp effort tomoz.
One PO Totally sold out of 2nd class stamps for 2 days, so 1st it is then? Im sure some pensioners not gonna bother rather than send em 1st.
So many Yorks at nite, its amazing. Much more than previous decades..."We Love Parcels", I forgot.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
In early, packets not too bad as we now have the spare men doing packet duties, so the oversize parcels go with them.
Still went over an hour passed my time.
