However for the 19 thousand new entrants which joined Royal Mail after 1st December 2022 we want a time line when they receive the supplement.

So what appears to be an extremely important question here, exactly when did these 19000 new joiners start joining, after Dec 2022 could mean that the entire cohort joined piecemeal since Dec 2022 or that they all joined in Oct 2024... or that it was spread out over the time period. It makes a difference what that timescale is.

Was that influx of 19000 new starters preceded by an exodus of 19000 new joiners, people reaching pension, people being sacked or people leaving due to company culture.

Why do I ask. It makes a massive difference why people leave, if the turn over is really quick it hints at a cultural problem within the company and overheads on recruitment could be reduced by fixing the issues and retaining employees. Just a thought ....

The turnover of staff is massive, uniform apart from the basics are no longer available for first 3 months.
7.6% pay rise made me chuckle, we will be lucky to get 2%!
And the inclusion of delivery supplement into basic pay is not a bad thing, we had driver allowance included in that years ago.
I believe it then becomes pensionable, but some one might correct me on that.

But that’s what they want……a quick & high turnover of staff. Basically they want a transient work force where people just pass through for a few days/weeks/months. They don’t want people staying in the business beyond a couple of years hence why they’re intent on causing cultural issues!!

Union: 'we want an inflation beating pay rise'...

inflation is 2.5%, so the union are after what? a 2.6% pay rise?

I don't think Royal Mail will mind too much about a 2.6% pay rise seeing as they put up stamp prices by 22% last year, have been purposefully understaffing us for years which has saved them millions and are likely going to get a USO change which will save them ~£450million.

Demand at least a 5% pay rise because of all of this. If Royal Mail get the go ahead for the USO change in ~June - then maybe they should include an additional % pay rise from June onwards with backpay to April 2025.
5% would just cover us losing the delivery supplement, should be getting at least 7.6%
We're not losing the delivery supplement.
CWU are proposing it gets consolidated into basic pay.
That's the point he's making 🤦
thank you
it’s astonishing how many people don’t get this is what is being said.
Then it makes sense how Mr Walsh can talk about a pay rise that BEATS INFLATION but also takes in our delivery supplement. and people will be happy as you can see here..

If all staff are going to lose their function supplements, then everyone must be getting whatever the delivery one is added to their basic pay. If that isn't happening then you're going to have different functions on different pay rates.
have you listen to the link? where he says we will
get the delivery supplent(s) consolidated and a pay rise to beat inflation?
just waiting for Mr. walsh to tell me I have it all wrong and of course the pay rise will factor in both, but that’s not what he’s said so far.

Pay rises that beat inflation, only when inflation is 3% or lower, never above.

I don't get any supplements, new starter since 2022. I'm intrigued that people think it was bought into pay and that then makes it pensionable. Looking at my first wage slip after reaching the NEST pension point, on the new contract all pay is pensionable. Older contracts might want to check what the pensionable pay for them is. As far as I understand pensionable pay is all pay including bonuses and supplements that are subject to income tax. Non pensionable would be travel allowances and pay that doesn't accrue income tax. Pensionable pay can be your entire pay or pay above a threshold. So mine looks like my entire wage is pensionable.

Any overtime part timers do up to full time hours, is pensionable.
That applies to members of both the RMCPP and Nest.
Some allowances are pensionable for RMCPP members, but none are with Nest.

@martin Walsh I 've been with royal mail 2 years in July. I just want.

The same hourly wage as the other person I'm working with. Doing the exact same job.

Opportunity to get full time hours which I have been doing for.a while but never offered.

Not having to wait another year to equalise my terms when I've been hanging on for so long hoping they get better.

Fairness in the office with ot offered. Some people are getting deals being paid 4 hours for 1.5 hours work cause "there fast" and already on full time hours when we're struggling to up our hours on 27,30 contracts.

Doesn't seem a lot to ask for me and 19,000 others.

If by April there's no sign of this happening me and alot of others will be gone, including out the union. Can't afford to wait it out much longer.

again, i repeat..
have you listen to what he said in the video?
He says that’s what’s
going to happen. “equalising pay and conditions”
nothing in detail
but the impression is that you will get a pay rise that
matches old contracts . Old
contracts will lose delivery supplants but will get told
they got a pay rise that bests inflation. which is in fact a pay cut for old
contracts so instead of 20k thinking of leaving it will be the old contracts..
would love some clarity..
hard to see why new people people stay on. job in lidl pays almost the same in a nice warm building.
