Been the lightest day for my office so far. Packets were up but not as bad as last week (yet). Actually made some time for once

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
another naff day down our way sat was 4.30 finish today not so bad time wise 3.45, but theres something seriously odd about today because they had 20+ posties sorting yesterday and when i got in this morning all sorting had finished by 7.30ish no more came in , yet people where still throwing of their duties at 10 oclock some taking upto three hours prep on their duty , in all ive never seen so much mail over a period of two weeks like this no gaps 6-8 trays of mech and ips nearly every day in that two week period [bar last tuesday my day off was very light apperently] ,the price increases did not put people off christmas cards this year let alone packets

Not too bad. Still loads of packets and Xmas cards but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Lets see what tomorrow brings.

Horrendous. Torrential rain all day, loads of packets, and more than enough Xmas mail.

It's been a piece of piss so far to be honest. Finished half an hour under today. Had 1 hour OT last week. Starting at 7:30, sorting is finished and half the frame is prepped when I go in.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Everyone out by 7.30am, hardly any mail, packets and parcels well below levels for time of year. Reading other peoples posts there have been two extremes from having it "easy" to being done in with volumes. Is this due to some offices being well under resourced where they are , bit of both or other factors.

Completely dead today - walks already tied up at 8am. Something happened at the MC and a lot of sequenced trays didn't turn up. We'll pay for it tomorrow... well I won't it's my day off
The machine stops.

An average Tuesday on my walk, though everyone was delayed while the Specials were readied - and only one was mine. I expect tomorrow to be heavy, and made worse by the downpour that is forecast.

Quite light mail wise with only packets a little up. Not enough letters for the MC to run the machines on the first run
Our collection drivers were saying the boxes were briming so i guess we are going to get hit weds onwards.

Really light. Not a lot of packets. The calm before the storm.

Think you could be right, when I turned up for work this morning 4 artics were queuing in the yard to be loaded up and the MC/Outhouse still was'nt clear of stuff. We managed to clear in the DO this morning apart from a few bits on the IPS.cyberheater wrote:Really light. Not a lot of packets. The calm before the storm.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
A very long day for me. In at 03.30 until 09.00 Then back at 14.00 until 18.30, IPS and packet sorting early on, until about 07.00. Went out with parcels until 9am. Parcels again later on, covering the area I hadn't finished earlier, then a totally different area across town. Never covered there before but managed to deliver, or attempt to deliver everything. Office seems to be getting on top of the parcels. People have commented on the fact that xmas cards seem to be down this year.
