This is why we all have to wait patiently for the dazzling charts and slick presentation to assuage our fears and concerns. To quote management: trust the processThe Postman wrote: ↑Yesterday, 18:21Wasnt heavy & Light model supposed to be 6 into 7? And ODM 3 into 4?
The ODM is dead. Long live the ODM.
The machine stops.

4 town walks ( two coloured Blue Two coloured Yellow) will be grouped together and be delivered by 3 postiesSingleton, Shared Van and High Capacity Trolley (HCT) Town walks, M-F, will be organised in groups of 4 where 2 will be
1c and parcels only and 2 will be all products. These 4 walks will be covered by 3 duties, consisting of 2 duties in a van
share and 1 singleton driving duty, utilising 2 vehicles. Each walk will rotate daily M-F
Day 1 Shared van pair on Blue walks will deliver all the mail as they do now whilst Singleton van delivers 1st class and parcels on the yellow walks
Day 2 Shared van pair deliver all the mail on the yellow walks whilst Singleton van does the 1st class and parcels on the blue walks.
Repeat Mon-Fri, Saturday only 1st class and parcels delivered So either fewer people in or earlier finish a possibilty
If the walks cannot be fully completed every day they will be reviewed and tweaked to even the workload across the 4 walks.
The current town walks will be made smaller so they should be able to be completed by donating some delivery points to the rural/firms permanently.
The rural and non town walks should have extra time available because they will split their own walk by delivering 50% 1st class and parcels and 50% all items, switching each half the next day Mon- Fri with Saturday only 1st class and parcels.

Above sounds pretty much like ODM
Below actually sounds promising - oh no what could possibly go wrong - oh yeah piss poor delivery office management

There is also the option of if a single town walk cannot be tweaked enough to be able to complete every day then that could be reclassed as "out of scope" and it would follow the rural/non town pattern of 50/50 1st class+ parcels/all mail just like the rurals will be doing (becomes a pink round not blue or yellow). They may not get any extra delivery points but could get extra indoor work instead.
This also applies if a DO has an odd number of town walks.

That's not what the agreement says and the requirement on non core days is to deliver all due mail. All singleton duties go 50/50 to create resource to assist indoor and outdoor. The singleton duties still have to deliver the workload due that day. The final amount of jobs is based on the 2025 data that the CWU claimed was not acceptable. Once again the CWU have betrayed their members in delivery.mr hil. wrote: ↑Yesterday, 22:244 town walks ( two coloured Blue Two coloured Yellow) will be grouped together and be delivered by 3 postiesSingleton, Shared Van and High Capacity Trolley (HCT) Town walks, M-F, will be organised in groups of 4 where 2 will be

All singletons go 50 /50 and are non-core on a Saturday. If there is an odd number of duties the odd one will become a singleton and goes 50,/50. The transfer of delivery points between duties only happens if there is capacity. All singleton duties will assist indoor and outdoor.mr hil. wrote: ↑Yesterday, 22:58There is also the option of if a single town walk cannot be tweaked enough to be able to complete every day then that could be reclassed as "out of scope" and it would follow the rural/non town pattern of 50/50 1st class+ parcels/all mail just like the rurals will be doing (becomes a pink round not blue or yellow). The first time I read appendix A I thought it was an April fool prank.
Having re read it and re re read it appears to be unbelievably overcomplicated and clearly unworkable.
It is worse than the original plan.
What exactly is the point of more trials?
The expectation is to have it rolled out nationally ready for "peak".
Merry Christmas everyone.

A copy of the actual documents in case they move from the CWU site...

The problem with 50% on a rural is you still may have to drive down every farm track with a 1c or tracked so you'll take less out but not gain any time.
