There was a youtube Parcelforce broadcast last Thursday , Which gives some information regarding this matter ,

Parcelforce drivers start training on royal mail PDA systems in June and we have been told to expect a huge amount of extra Parcels from royal mail in July .
So by all accounts it looks like big changes in JULY .

So the self employed drivers will be delivering RM parcels.
So it begins!

Its only 25% self employed drivers at the moment at Parcelforce but I fear that will increase as time goes by .

Could Martin clarify which area of RM parcels is going to Parcelforce?
Is it DPR routes?
Just be honest, don't we all deserve to know what's happening?

Is it basically everything that we send to DOs as "large" that will be going over to PF? We often get "large" in the sleeves that we get from other MCs. RM will need to decide if they'll get put to one side and sent to the nearest PF depot or if we'll have to send to to the DOs.

Are parcelforce going to be taking on thousands of more staff to deliver all the above shoe box sized parcels?

RM are investing a lot of money in this, so l would have thought that they will be looking for more drivers.

The modelling shows that parcel drop rates increase from Wednesday to Saturday where it peaks.
My experience shows that parcel volumes increase on Tuesday, peak on Wednesday then decrease again, but what do I know out here in reality?

Whilst the 1st class rates are circa 20% , the number of parcels and tracked will potential mean a singleton van will have a partner on a Saturday to assist the delivery of parcels for two routes.
Stupid idea.

Contrary to a lot of negative quotes on here , the actual sites where the pilot is being deployed are largely positive with what they are going to pilot.
Why haven't we heard anything positive about the proposals then? If there were any positive points we'd read about them and already be getting enthusiastic. All we've heard is bigger workloads, longer days, later finishes and more getting moved around, switching about with other people.

However let’s be honest Holland , Germany and Denmark have all recently announced they are either cutting jobs or reducing the service due to letter decline and a very competitive parcel market.
Posties in other parts of the world getting shat on is not a justification for supporting your members getting shat on.

There is going to be change.it is therefore sensible that we pilot it in the units agreed to see the impact and benefits.
Support a change to piloting some ideas that are physically and psychologically sustainable for the workforce.

As someone who has posted on this site for over 20 years I will keep informing members wherever I can despite some of the comments by posters including political organisations who oppose every single thing but have never had an answer other than call for a rank and file movement which I have heard for 40 years.
When I read your "information", I feel I am fighting both RM and the Union I'm paying into. This is distressing and wrong.

It just shows how they lurch from one hairbrained idea to the next. It was only in October that all our large were sent to a parcel hub and they have recruited new staff to deliver these, now they will be going to parcel force

Well at the moment we are very short of work and have been loaning drivers out to royal mail delivery offices ,

At our depot we could cope with an extra 2 thousand parcels per day without employing any extra .

if you watch the cwu parcelforce Youtube broadcast last Thursday he states that Parcelforce wants to double the amount of Parcels it delivers and may need more depots in the future .

so yes they may need more staff , lets hope there are not owner drivers .

We are just 1 D.O, 11 DPR duties were put in the parcel hub, multiply that across the country.

On the flip side, will some of the smaller packets that PF currently deliver be coming over to RM?
