Remember guys, it’s possible that more tax was paid than expected due to HMRC being confused as to why you received too much this week. I got hit with a massive student loan payment, as well, even though I’m under the threshold.

If you overpaid tax or overpaid student loan you can sort it out in the next tax year. If you’re under the threshold for student loan repayments make sure you contact THEM once your p60 has come out next year. Could be a decent chunk of change.

SO... i'm Contracted 30 hours:
Pending Payment from my bank is £1089.48... Assuming that included my (currently on half pay) wages of about £210, so call it roughly £880.

I was hearing £1500 expected payment total for full time (pre or post tax??), which is 35 hours? Begs the question ... How does it add up that working 85% of the time a full timer works equates to a payment that is only 58% of what a full timer is getting? Even if my sums are off and I'm missing tax, that still doesn't anywhere near add up.

*again, I'm not fully read up on this yet, need to see my actual slip too. and the £1500 is just what I've heard in the office.

The money is based on your contracted hours, then you have tax and ni contributions to pay

Sorry if this has been asked but what is a 30 hour contract looking to pick up after tax.

My guess is that it would be about £1,000 for 30 hours after tax.

Sorry if this has been asked but what is a 30 hour contract looking to pick up after tax.

My guess is that it would be about £1,000 for 30 hours after tax.

Its not a bonus its guilt money or blood money on however you look at it, its to distract you from the £580 million they filled their pockets or should i say stole from the bank account leaving the company on the brink of collapse,and its not a bonus if they are giving you your own money.
