I frequently see the regular postie who delivers to my area sat in his van or stood on the street chatting for 20-30 minutes at a time to someone, he's actually quite notorious for being a relentless chatterbox and I know some residents who actively avoid him so they don't get stuck with him gabbing away to them for ages.

Because myself and others have seen him stopped chatting to numerous people at different points throughout the day which all in adds up to well over any meal relief time, at a rough guess I'd reckon he spends up to 2 hours a day chatting to people.
Like he said, he's notorious for it and can be a real pain in the arse, neighbours having to make excuses to get away from him or avoid him altogether, I know one person who has put a parcel box by her door even though she's almost always in, simply because she doesn't want to answer the door to him and then be stuck with him wittering away to her for 20 minutes or more.
