Ring doorbells

Ring doorbells only alert the person with the app, three times in the past 2 years I've rung one and been told to wait as the customer is at work and needs to call the person who is in the house but won't open the door to "strangers," so they can open the door. Also got a few that are seemingly pointing at someone else's garden. Negates the point of it if you're getting alerted when next day or gets a parcel

They can be set to ring as a traditional bell as well. Not just the app. Why people don’t have that option enabled is another matter.

No they can't unless they purchase an internal door chime which very few seem to do, they either ring on a smart speaker, if they've bothered to connect it, or via the owners phone app. From my own personal experience unless you are sat somewhere with decent wifi or a strong 5G signal they are a waste of time as a door bell, although decent as a CCTV.

Whether you ring or not is largely irrelevant.
A lot work by motion sensor so they know you are there if you use the bell or not.

They've still got to make the effort to answer the door, it always amazes me how long some people take to answer the door, or how many people seem to have difficulties finding their door keys!

It's the keys thing that gets me, how can it take so long, surely most people usually keep them in the same place.

Weird, mine came with a door chime. The lesson to be learned is you push all the bells available and if it is a Ring doorbell, knock as well if you don’t hear an internal chime. With your hand, not the scanner. Unless you have sensitive hands.

I always wonder what would happen if they woke up to their house on fire, locked in with no idea where the key is
