But they are all due for delivery that day and should be on the system as such before they reach the DO, currently we are doing the same thing twice

Will ALL the 2C ALWAYS go out for delivery without fail?

No Tracked are left, 1st class and Tracked are delivered everyday.

Even if there were to be some it would be far easier to remove them than repeat scanning every morning

I get paid to deliver parcels that specifically come in late. I don't get paid to post someone else's letter. What incentive is there for them to do their job if they know nothing will happen to them for leaving it?

Within 5-10 years I reckon a very sizeable chunk of letters and flats will be Tracked. Already MCs are sending Tracked letters and flats out in trays both between the Outward and Inward MCs and the Inward MCs to DOs.

If that's the case RM might need to think about taking out the requirement for the walk postie to 'Scan to route' the sizeable chunk
of letters/flats that will be tracked that you refer to and automating the process somehow. Scanning individual tracked letters and flats in a 'sizeable' volume will be so inefficient.

The system basically needs to know that an item is going out for delivery that day and on which walk. How can the system know an item isn't going out if items aren't scanned out to a walk?

That's it, that's what I was getting at! Doesn't mean it'll actually get delivered through the letterbox though.

This happens at the moment- parcels are scanned to core route - they get taken out on delivery - run out of time - 'Delivery Not Attempted'

Anyone else have a manager phoning you up when you’re out on delivery if you miss even 1 1st class letter in the fitting (of mail you don’t take out) they make us come back to the depot to get it and if this causes us to be late finishing we have to do it in our own time unpaid! Surely this is illegal, forcing us to work unpaid? Just when you think this company can’t get any worse it does…

The time.slot is the issue, as a customer is only informed of when to expect the parcel.once it's scanned tomcore.and then confirmed, not that 99% seem.take.any notice anyway!!
