Royal Mail suggested non drivers Monday-Friday with Saturdays off but the union objected. If this is the case time to stop my union fees.

Why would the union allegedly objecting to Mon-Fri for some make you leave the union?

There will be little or nothing for non driving staff to do on a Saturday, especially in units with few HCT routes.

The only way you are getting 4 walks of parcels/1st class/collections done is if you send 2 drivers out in a van each and do 2 walks each.
Doing it 2 in a van covering 4 walks as you suggest is a non starter - they tried it in ours and you are lucky to cover 3 out of the 4 walks due to how inefficient it is.
As much as people don't want to hear it, from a purely business/operational angle, Mon-Fri for some staff makes total sense.

A few facts my office is quite big and gets a lot of mail and parcels back in 2023 the van share jobs if you drive or not got the most work added in the revision. Since then those walks lucky to get a letter delivery 3 times a week.New thing on the board for next year 4 walks into 3 people four van share walks getting laspe work taken off.But guess what they still wont be able too do two walks of double letters a day and four walks of parcels RM will never be as good as 2022.

How many of the original staff from 30 years ago who voted that in are still there?
I imagine that will be the first thing to go under any change to delivery methods as it will instantly save RM over 20% in wages, even more if it’s at SA rate.

I don't think it will work out that way, the 2 in 6 includes rotating weekdays days off with a cover duty plus don't forget under the odm or whatever they implement there'll be a lot less staff required in on Saturday anyway.
