Re: Failing tracked, and bringing back – duty too big
I told my manager that other managers have told me not to use "delivery not attempted" but to phone them instead so they can tell me to use Innaccessable instead under the pretence of a non-existant road closure. He said hes aware some managers don't like it but that it is the correct scan to use. It sends a text/email to the customer saying sorry we couldn't manage to deliver to you today. Whereas applying an incorrect "no answer" or "inaccessible" scan sends them a text/email containing blatant lies, which in turn makes them think we are liars who couldn't be bothered and then they put in a complaint ......at which point the manager will deny telling you to apply the incorrect scan. Watch your back with these dodgy managers

Been happening for at least the last 5 or 6 years. Infact it's been happening ever since the managers have had a bonus incentive scheme for clearing all tracked in their unit.Jonathan Alsatian wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025, 20:01I told my manager that other managers have told me not to use "delivery not attempted" but to phone them instead so they can tell me to use Innaccessable instead under the pretence of a non-existant road closure. If they want a false scan DON'T do it under your login tell them to do it under their own login and have a work friend with you as a witness.

Managers are under pressure from above to make the numbers look good but because we are essentially prioritising parcels over letters, managers don't want anyone to be using the "delivery not attempted" scan. Our manager informed us that if we thought we were going to struggle to deliver any Tracked items that we should ring them whilst we out on delivery so that they could deal with it.
Often when I've done it, they have told me to focus on delivering all the tracked items and bring any mail back. If there are any Tracked items that have been missed on returning back to the delivery office (maybe in one of the bundles) then it's best to notify the manager of this. That covers your back and lets them deal with it. You will probably never get anything in writing about this procedure.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

How will I be getting into trouble if this situation if it did actually happen to me ?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025, 07:15Get them to put it in writing otherwise if the s**t hits the fan, you'll be the one getting into trouble.
I'll be noting under memo and then informing Union Rep in the afternoon about it.
Please explain.

When in the situation of by yourself on a double round could you not scan all parcels onto a DPR route have it calculate the estimated delivery time for tracked and go from there? You would save time on some deliveries but it gives you a rough timing of what’s achievable or not, Evidence to show the manager. If you were to follow the DPR you would need a second PDA for boxes and collections.
