Ours were told last night that the Foreign items are going back in the locker from next week. No extra staff even though we were reduced from 18 staff down to 10. We'll see how that works out with 2000 to 2500 extra items a night especially as the now arrive four hour later.
Our locker has lost 2 maybe 3 staff over the last couple of years. No staff available to replace them so we might end up just tossing them back out to Tracked (either that or just fail them)

I think they should just sort it in a separate area too. Mixing all the cheap Chinese tat with their premium product has never seemed right. Think we are having a new visa contact coming in the room from the 18th as well to sort with the passports, even though they are all tracked items. Seems they don't trust it to be done correctly out on the floor.

Blimey your Locker is over staffed in comparison to ours 4 Staff for the first 2 hours then 5 staff for the next 2 hours then drip drip drip up to 11 staff at the end strangely enough it's a struggle for them and yep ours have been told the Foreign/Chinese tat is going back to the Locker probably means I will be back in the SD Locker even though my duty doesn't exist anymore

Don't know if we do the passport contract in our locker or on the floor, my guess is on the floor. I wonder how many MCs it'll end up tossing them back out to the floor or failing them where they've lost locker trained staff as a result of realignments

We where told Weds night that we would be doing them again from Monday 18 Sept.
Like others this is on top of other work that has been introduced in locker like passports, told don't worry only max of 22 per night, now in reality up to 300 per night.
Don't worry though as of next week Monday 18 Sept we will now process visa applications alongside passports, international tracked and finally not forgetting Special Deliveries which is what we are supposed to be processing in the first instance.
Like others we have lost hours and Staff, so we shall look forward to the pantomime performances by management once again next week.

I reckon most if not all MCs will end up either failing them or tossing them back out to the floor

Only 300 we are getting somewhere around 900 to 1000 Passports every night the Manager has ended up doing them himself as there isn't anyone else because even though in the resign/repick 9 duties were allocated against the Locker with 2 spares 5 6 or 7 of them start most shifts on the Tracked before gradually being dripped into the Locker depending on the work load. I know they are in trouble when I get sent in at around 5 am normally have the deep joy of being the one to clear the 30 Yorks of Lumps that need sorting. There is a customer that sells Trainers and can get around 500 shoe box size specials a Night at Xmas last year I think on one night it peaked at 840 and we have to be basically the Despatching Office for them as they go straight to the Customer

I received a tracked package from a friend in the USA recently. It just came through my door and when I checked the tracking it ended at it's arrival at Heathrow.

Wonder if they've had a high number of claims from foreign postal administrations re failure to track and collect signatures on items from abroad ?

What about PSM equipped MC's? Surely they can be fed into the PSM so they be gauranteed a scan?

Our MC has been doing the international now, but still chuck out the none tracked to the floor... pretty much what our tracked area was doing.

So my question is what are they gaining from this ?

I think the issue is they're supposed to be treated as though they're tracked in delivery offices, as someone said earlier they're not getting the relevant scans so would it not be just a bit easier to remind us to do that rather than revert to treating them as specials.

Apparently the Custom Charges are getting through and RM are having to foot the bill.

The customs charge ones were meant to always go via the lockers, sounds like the ultimate problem is HWDC not sending them to MCs as specials

I heard on the Grapevine that HWDC has someone attaching Tracked Stickers to them and processing them as such our Quality Control Bloke is not best pleased by this practice

Hmm, aren't the customs charge and tracked stickers we used to use both purple? Someone got the wrong sticker roll?
