4.30pm finishing time in my office
Behold our wonderful uniform national service.

I never saw any sequenced trays this morning. I have to guess the MC just kicked it all down as manual.
The machine stops.

Same here, we had just a small bundle with the 1st class, still had 3 sacks full of packets though, out at 9 back at 1, that's with two walks, just packets and xmas cards

I wonder how much mail is being held upstream of the inward MCs which will get released for processing by inward MCs on Boxing Day night.

It did feel like they held letters back they were to confident it was going to be REALLY light days before.

When we were running the CSS machines Tuesday night, when the wave 1 was going through there was a crazy amount being deferred by the DTS. Just about every batch we sent out was a single tray, one batch only filled just over 2/3 of a tray. Either someone somewhere run a batch way too early and corrupted the DTS data or the higher ups tweaked something to make nearly everything get deferred.

In that case it will be a rough boxing day night in MC’s and a very busy saturday for DO’s.

Probably the latter, which explains why the COM's we would be clear by finishing on Christmas Eve?
