Along with the PDA holster & the school boy uniform, this piece of equipment only adds to making us look unprofessional

Asking if English is her first language without first researching the word is impolite and crass.Londonsburning wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025, 22:36genuine question, is English your first language? Because I have never heard that word uttered by another human being in my 56 years on this planet lolobviating
Yes, it's an English word:
obviate
/ˈɒbvieɪt/
verb
gerund or present participle: obviating
remove (a need or difficulty).
"The presence of roller blinds obviated the need for curtains"

English is my first language, yes.Londonsburning wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025, 22:36genuine question, is English your first language? Because I have never heard that word uttered by another human being in my 56 years on this planet lolobviating
“Obviating” is a word used in everyday parlance — even if never heard by you. Your inability to look up the definition of a word unfamiliar to your vocabulary, even if just by googling the word, amply demonstrates you’re clearly yet to master the English language yourself, “lol”.
It begs the obvious question in response: is English your first language?? And would it make a difference to you if I happened to be, say, Eastern European, Israeli, Nigerian, etc? Given your contentious views in the Canteen section on matters of immigration, would you view me as cheap labour stealing English jobs if I happened to have a language other than English for my mother tongue?
Given that you’re now down to your final username on this site — which the mods have, very generously if I may say, let you keep — I presume you have promised to behave yourself going forwards? If you are indeed supposed to be on best behaviour please stop casting personal aspersions about me and other posters whose views don’t accord with your own. As the mods have told you, and us all, countless times: attack the argument, not the poster.
