Failing tracked, and bringing back – duty too big

So, last week, we brought a lot of tracked back, not scanned at all. The COM himself scanned all of them as DELIVERED. The next day he asked us to deliver them with no further scan.

Can the COM scan them as delivered after I scan them as Delivery Not Attempted?

So do the COM's must have the PDA capability to scan 'delivered' without having to take a photo then?

There’s the camera faulty option they could press on the pda

Think that would get flagged if used too often. They'd be expected to send that PDA off to wherever for repair.

I can't believe a manager would scan undelivered stuff as delivered as not only would this send an email to the intended recipients telling them its delivered but it would also drop a gps location pin onto a map visible to the customer showing the delivery point as the DO. This would trigger compaints from senders and addressees and result in big customers going elsewhere.

Well they are not supposed to be live tracking your data so there is a case for a grievance if that continues.

That's the very least of my worries. For years I have been saying, check my PDA data, track me, come with me on delivery, follow me, have this thing properly timed.

There isn't one. They don't reply to messages and banned me from all their social media. The only “help” I had from them, in different offices, was them saying “start time, finish time” or “put a grievance”. Even spoke to the area rep, he only said “I'll have a chat with your manager if I have a chance”. That was it. Nothing ever happened. You wouldn't believe the stuff they let managers get away with.

My COM just put up a “wall of shame” board with scan failures. My shared duty is at the top because I fail so many tracked. I will never use any other option other than Delivery Not Attempted.

That's nothing. Believe me, I've seen much, much worse happening in just a few years working here. And the union always ok with it.

They’ll get to be the managers going around spending a whole day sticking coloured tape on frames. 3 managers and 4 agency staff to help them do it we only have a dozen rounds.

My reply is that I don't even have time to deliver all tracked items. I then ask a few managers, if I have to cut off, should I bring back tracked items or first class letters? None of the managers can give me a straight answer

Seriously it got to a point where I can no longer manage what could actually be achieved and what will fail in a day. Specially if the manager I have that day decides all 1st class needs to go out of the DO. It will just come back and forth. 2nd class is so much and bulky that just a few days of it won't fit in the frame. Complete nightmare company

Just did this yesterday with 4 or 5 tracked slim packets - I'd missed them in the bundles when bringing a loop of mail back after delivering a s**t ton of oversize on top of my normal walk.


Got a dressing down this morning from the DOM & COM that under no circumstances am I ever to scan 'Delivery Not attempted'.

I asked "Why's it on the PDA then?".

"Thats for us to use"

Simple answer to that has bee recommended by many on here in these circumstances.
Ask for that instruction in writing as it is your understanding that it is falsifying records and if they require you to falsify records you want a written not verbal instruction.
They may well wet themselves at this point so make sure you are near the loo at this point
