Trial offices and repicks!!!

Thanks, meaning posties of a good few years of service will be kicked off there duties and even made spare, while some now get to grab 2 duties. Will be a lovely place to work ,,,

What of non drivers? As no one knows how the hell the USO is gonna work and that everything we hear is hearsay of this and that. From what I've heard of any ideas or proposals of it seems that it's all set up to be driven (excuse the pun) to be driver based. Again I haven't a clue and am only asking if anyone has heard what happens to the non drivers or can a non driver with good seniority still sign for a duty before a driver? The whole scenario of all different things we heard are a mind f@#*

We were told that non drivers would sit in the office every Saturday prepping Mondays D2Ds. That wont cause resentment at all... and Just imagine Mondays delivery span.

And,, , The Rurals less work than everyone else , that cant stay as it is surely ????

We were told Rurals would not be included in the new system. Any time saved due to MC holding mail will just be filled by doing extra packets. They will be out on delivery one way or another.

Duties 1/2/3/4.

One driver picks 1&2.
One driver picks 3&4.
Non driver picks 1/2/3/4.
Thus 3 posties on 4 duties.

I wondered about that also, I thought perhaps duties 1/2/3/4 would be offered to be picked by three people but obviously only one non driver allowed.

I remember when they first introduced P&L there was talk of some offices letting OPGs pair up and combine seniority to pick duties. Never happened at ours though.

If the trials are as big a mess as some are suggesting and the CWU live last week indicated there are issues which are not being addressed, why would OFCOM give the go ahead to something that is supposed to fix all the issues if they see evidence that it is a mess? Their duty of care is to the consumer not Royal Mail.

Check out Ofwat and Ofgem for some previous fuckery and you will soon realise these so called UK regulators are corrupt to the core.

They said some offices were understaffed during the trials. Imagine doing a trial where you don't even have the correct staff numbers - what's the point. Trials are a mess.

In theory, you're right. However, Ofcom is under massive political and industry pressure to reduce costs through modernisation while appearing to protect postal services. Their recent report has already laid the groundwork for reduced service expectations based on their belief that RM's finances are unsustainable. Realistically, they will most likely wave these reforms through, dismissing the problems in some offices as teething issues which they might claim can be fixed later

We aren't going to be holding the mail. 1C and 2C manual letters and flats will be in separate trays and BOTH sent on the same yorks to DOs at the same time.

Maybe so but you certainly ain’t having a problem holding it at MCs at the moment and causing carnage in doing so!!

We don't hold any manual letters or flats, if it arrives it gets sorted and sent out to the DOs. Any that arrives too late will get done latter when the manual DSA is sorted. Most likely there are lorries arriving too late for the mail to be sorted and make the wave 2 dispatch (we don't have a wave 3).
