PDAs double treble parcels

when u do customer collections, u scan each individual parcel ur picking up before submit button, it doesnt come up with about 20 collected in a row when u do one scan, its backward thinking as usual by royal mail, should just let us scan one parcel for each parcel keep it simple

They certainly do. When we scan a 2D barcode when sorting the packets, the PDA allocates it to the sleeve/york for that selection.

Completely different source. What you're getting is the information within the 2D barcode. When you scan to core you get the information from the sender, which in about 50% aren't supplied.

Easy option is only scan the regular barcodes rather than the 2d ones that contain the address info then the PDA won't know there's multiple items.

It's also quicker inside as you don't have to confirm on the PDA after every scan when scanning to core route.

Most standard barcodes contain the address now.

Do they? I scan all the 2Ds to core and the majority of the time it's 'Match not found'. Then again, the problem may lie in the backend - it's all a black box to us anyway.

I think it was a deliberate move by RM when scan to core was introduced to cut down on the length of time it takes to scan the parcels, so any parcels where you need to select the house number just appear as "not known" whereas ifnyounscsn the parcel to an ad-hoc parcel route you can select the house number/name.
