And some of you wonder why I agree sick pay needs looking at?

We’ve been through this. Do you really want me to explain it again? The sick pay is an issue for a small percentage of piss-takers. Simon put those figures out which said exactly what we already knew.
Instead of bringing in a company-wide change in sickness policy, which is completely unfair to the vast majority…

Take everything, bring it all back and prep it back in.

Extra 30min-1 hour O/T, no extra work cleared.

Think of it as RM financing your strike fund.

Well our ‘bad cop’ manager decided to stamp her boots a bit. She said upper management had told her we couldn’t leave anything in the frame, anything we took out had to be delivered, and if we can’t complete (nobody could! OT was allowed though) we had to remove those loops from the frame and chuck them back into grey trays. So you had people prepping the round, bagging up a few loops then taking everything else back out of the frame and throwing them (not keeping them in order) back into trays. Farcical. I’m not sure of the reasoning - can she report it as the rounds clear?

This might not go down well with some of you but I actually found it simple and stress free today, almost enjoyable, so many people were rushing around and booking OT, I simply followed the COMs instructions, took tracked and a few loops, went at a leisurely pace and finished on time. Roll on more of the same tomorrow.

Be careful of believing Simons figure. He will have used the figures during a period of a worldwide pandemic when isolation was required by law, cynical move designed to divide and conquer. Let’s see the stats and cost for a 5-10 year period.

All the backlog must have hit the DOs on Sunday night for Monday delivery as we didn't have any sign of a backlog on nights

Do the docket gang "need" or "want" the money ? i will never go over again after getting bumped twice a while back, my wages have been halved recently, depending on strike dates, and being on a 32 hour contract. regarding sick absence, it is literally contagious, we all hate going to work now, and if so and so takes the piss with sick leave, why cant i ? we have some real pro's, five mins back to work review and your good to go. people look on and think, hey i'll have some of that ! when i grew up going off sick was a last resort, a stain on your moral fibre and you always felt guilty for being off as it played on your conscience anyway. when i started R.M 15 yrs ago an ex rep told me, he built it into his leave, 4 weeks paid, two weeks bought, one week sick, hey presto, seven weeks off. thanks for reading (if you did !) stay strong brothers and sisters.
