People can't really blame RM or even the union for the lack of all incentives in the job. If anyone ever achieves anything on merit, half the office moans about unfairness and going through the motions is restored.

The agency workers are paid more than the new contract, less than the old contract.
Are they actually paid more? I had thought their hourly rate was 12.06% more to account for accruing holiday pay. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Not sure what the rate is for but there's an Angard job near me advertising £13.37 (05:31-19:59), £14.28 (05:01-05:30), £14:05 (20:00-21:39) and £14.82 (21:40-01:59) and overtime £15.68 at 40 hrs.
my pay rate is £12:54, no change for time of work and if I got to 40 hrs overtime paid at £15.68

They get a higher OT rate though, and that must be brought back down and aligned with the legacy OT rates then…….

Bet it isnt.

Or a better thing is for legacy to go up 🙂

To me equalising means make them equal so the same, in which case they'd be the same.

You earn how.much a year more.than new.starters?
You don't have the late.hours on your contract like they do.
You don't have Sundays on your contract
You have better sick pay conditions.

And your worried about their overtime rate!!!

I'm on the new contract and I couldn't care less if I lost this lucrative OT rate when equalisation eventually happens.
All the other benefits of the legacy contact far outweigh this benefit. :confused

As a fellow new entrant I hear you and understand completely where you’re coming from, but imo proper equalisation won’t ever occur. I think the best that can be hoped for is that the unpaid breaks situation might change and our contracted hours might reduce as a result of that (but while keeping our pay the same, so a small pay rise, which the CwU will claim as a massive levelling up victory), but that is as good as I think it will get. We will still be the only ones contractually required to do Sundays. We will still be the only ones providing the much-needed flexibility and extra work. For me personally, given I consistently do six days a week, if the OT rate when down to legacy rates I would end up worse off financially.
