Well good luck everyone!
Will the last one out hit Crozier with a big sledgehammer? I want to see if the blood splatter does indeed read 'f**k off'.

Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Re: Quit
Same here mate as we all thought this job was a good one once but the shocking pension and workloads have put paid too that now and forevermore!.NWpostie wrote:I'm looking to get out on VR term as well. go back to college and retrain.
22 years so I should get something decent, I would have stayed if we had kept the final salary but thats gone now so it would make no difference as it is now frozen at 21 years service, career average afterward.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Quit
24 years of unblemished service, then stitched right up by what is laughingly called management.
the contempt i feel towards these fools is palpable.
That's it for me,i would rather clean shithouses with a toothbrush than work for this circus.
First chance i'm gone. :lfo :cfo :mfo

Re: Quit
Thanks for the kind words guys
When I started the job a good 3 years ago I would say I called myself a proud Postman, you came in on your time and left the office when you prepped up so you could be gone for 8.30 and be home for lunch life was good! Then all this modernisation came in and they opened there doors to competitors and its not being the same since and on a huge downward spiral, you can’t call it a job anymore, the amount of workload you are made to carry is a joke.
Anyway I have another job and start Wednesday
Good luck to the rest of you who knows what’s going to happen to RM after Christmas!
Quick question guys, I have being paying into my pension for 3 years can I claim this money back??

Re: Quit
Good luck with your new job bud
, start my new job tomorrow...
I think if you have paid into pension for 2 yrs or more, you cannot get a refund, you will either have to leave it frozen with RM, or transfer into your new employer's scheme, or into a personal pension.
I have left mine with RM because the majority of it is in the Final Salary scheme, plus a year or so in the Career Average baloney, and i can still start taking it @ 60.

Re: Quit
In a previous employment I struggled on far, far too long and paid the price in terms of my health, and from that the advice must be if it's not what it was and you don't like it look elsewhere and get out as sonn as yoy can.
In contrast, and some of you may find this hard to believe, my three years with Royal Mail have gone quite well and I can't seriously think of a job I would rather be doing.

Re: Quit
im part time ( still do the same amount of walking as the rest of you)
Its heavy its tiring its unrewarding its cold and wet (its a piss take) . the managers steal hours off you and dont pay u what u claim for the stress is quite unreal . The fellow collegues can be quite arrogant and bitter towards you (some) the areas you work in can stink! . your ankles and wrists etc ache in pain your constantly tired and it effects your family life . under constant fear u might be attacked on ur walk by gangs of giro beggers.
And if you dont manage to deliver all the mail you get thrown in jail. or threatened and investigated.
All that for 140 a week mius ur bus faires and eating on the shifts.
f**k THAT
stick me back on 120 a fortnight sitting in my nice warm flat all day long. id save so much on busfaires and eating out anyway.
I want out asap been here for about 4 months now. and i want my life back royal mail managers think they own it.
