No staff, No overtime, No incentives too finish early because you can't. No cover on your day off. Yes the business is falling apart, and our new leader is doing a great job by doing nothing.

Its like watching your house burn down but there's nothing you can do about it apart from watch. In my eyes this is what Daniel Kretinsky is doing but laughing at the same time.

Seems like he has a timetable of destructive events over the next couple of years and they don't look promising.

I do hope you defend yourselves when your customers ask what's happening with their mail? Those I trust I show them photos of the frame when it was at it's worst & zoom in to show them their weeks worth of mail crammed in the frame.

Why is everyone getting so overexcited about such a non event?
Why does nobody mention the fact we prioritise Special Deliveries or collections?
Why does anyone care what they prioritise? We all get paid no matter :cuppa
Because we might not in the very near future with redundancy which DK said he was gonna do and thats not scaremongering.
I agree redundancies will come & you're not scaremongering. But they are a fact of life as more technology takes over aspects of our work. But we're not all worried about them. There's a fair number of older staff who are hoping to get a redundancy pay off in the not too distant future. I'd be happy to go myself if offered as I'm not that far off retirement. In theory it will be the senior staff on legacy contracts who get it as RM is keen to get rid of these, but all we can do is wait & see.

I apologise but . On the one hand everyone is terrified of redundancy. On the hand its quite a few posties wet dream. Surely if they want redundancy they'll just offer it and quite a few would be killed in the rush.

Its compulsory redundancies paid out at the basic statutory terms rather than enhanced term voluntary redundancy people are worried about

of course nobody* is worried about voluntary redundancies....the clue is in the name

*no posties should worry - the CWU however would prefer less VRs of course because of the loss of members and therefore loss of subs
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Yes, Royal Mail should be making sure all mail is delivered within time, but that hasn't been the case for 4+ years....

Honestly, it would be best for the public to just go paperless with the vast majority of their mail. Then there'd be bugga all to deliver and they'd actually receive the important stuff on time....NHS letters, solicitors letters, bank cards.

Royal Mail has no plans to change. Things will surely just get worse as the USO changes would mean days where we'd have to deliver 2 and 3 days mails each and every week. It's going to be diabolical.

Clearly one bad apple destroying all the good work done by thousands of other posties everyday of the week delivering parcels.

Although it could easily be a case that the postie knows the customer is going to be out yet again as there's no car on the drive.

What's become clear over the past few years when you read comments on RM stories in the media is how polarised the public is about THEIR postie.

"We have a great postman, we see him every day, always happy and helpful". Yeah, so would I be with a single days mail, resourced properly and never getting moved off my own walk.

"I never see my postman, and when I do, it's a different person, and they look really grumpy and fed up, plus I get 10 letters at once once a week."
Yeah that will be the guy that gets thrown around the worst walks in the office, expected to do the job that 2 people did, chasing their tail every day and never knowing his days off or what the next day has for him.

That sounds exactly like I have to deal with week in week out, didn't realise it was widespread :chuckle
