Also, how does one ensure the pay % agreed backdated to April 1st will be paid after one leaves?
ie the difference from April 1st to leaving date.
The negotiations won't have finished by then.

Based on all the pay awards while I worked at RM (2012-2022) you will only get the backdated pay if you are working for RM on the day the offer is accepted. Or put another way, you won't get the pay rise if you leave before it has been agreed/accepted.

Your notice period will have been in your original contract and is nothing to do with how often you are paid (despite what some people insist). I cannot remember the dates now, but believe that if you joined before 01 April 2018 it was one week's notice - and if you joined from 01 April 2018 it is four week's notice.
