Associate grade (AG) was a term used to refer to part time staff.

That makes sense. You used to still hear that term being used twenty years ago. I had read the introduction of less-than-full-time jobs was a point of industrial dispute in the mid 80s so conflated AGs with actual casuals.

I started as a casual in January 94 as was made part time in April 94 so I got my 30 years gift in April last year. £100 gift (you've a choice of vouchers to the value of £100, or gift (usual stuff like BBQ etc.))

Do you get even an acknowledgement for 10 and 20 years now?

Colleagues have passed these landmarks and have not even had a certificate or 'well done' from a manager.

Somebody (retired 2 years ago) did 40 years, he got £200 for basically his entire life's service to the company.

It worked out as 10p a week (£0.096). What a company!!!!

Same in many places now, I did over 34 years at my old job, got made redundant and they made sure I got the absolute minimum, no thanks for your long service, nothing.

The little cruciform? Is it silver for 20 years? I started wearing my red 10 year one for what little spiritual boost it gives me in these dark days (figuratively and, in December when signing out, literally).
