Quick question: SD 1pm

We are told to scan all our undelivered 1 o'clocks at 10 to 1 as No Access to stop the clock then just deliver them as normal

These are the sort of shenanigans the PDA was supposed to eliminate.

In the pre-PDA days the locker would scan all the SDs as delivered on the day, then when the P4550 slips were handed in the following morning suddenly some switched status to 'not delivered'. I think officially you were supposed to call from a payphone out on delivery if you weren't returning to the unit.

Amazing how back then 99.9% of regies got delivered before 1pm too.

We had a WTLL (shocking I know!), that mentioned something about this, but can't recall whether it was for Tracked only (to reduce allegations of non or mis-delivery) or included SD's. If there is something in place that raises an alert through the PDA data that this has happened then I can imagine lino's ignore it because it would mean them having to investigate why - and then that might show they've been ignoring it for ages to ensure deliveries get completed.

Is it the 'Now' or 'Move' notification? Pops up when you're not in the area, and you scan it (to stop the clock)

Not sure, nobody in our office has actually mentioned getting a warning of any sort if they scan outside the immediate area of a DP. I can't recall from the WTLL when it said this was coming in. Might try scanning an SD for delivery in the yard at the beginning of the day to see what happens!

Every instance of 'move/now' I have had happen has occurred at the correct DP. The whole back half of the second duty suffers from it periodically. I don't know if it's poor GPS reception. The PDA is, of course, never wrong.

Don't think most customers/senders or receiving care too much about sds getting there for 1pm. More about having some kind of insurance for a valuable item. As others have said management response seems to be don't worry about it.
RM should do the sensible thing and do away with it all together and just have next day and if timing is important charge a fortune for it like some couriers do.

The daily "Dashboard" data on the PDA has been recently updated to now showing SD's as "failed" if they are not delivered by 1pm, or possibly 1:15pm, as I one I delivered yesterday at 1;25pm which showed as a failure today, even though our DO is in an area where we can officially deliver up to 1:30pm anyway. Meanwhile the manager is telling us not to worry about delivering SD's by 1:30pm!

All our SDs going out for their automatic redelivery when attempted after 1PM (which is an expired guarantee after the first attempt) show up as delivered late. My score that I care ever so deeply about is tanking.

Maybe it’s my age but why was SD’s time pushed out to 1.30pm in the first place and then put back to 1pm again recently?
