They are a waste of time haven't filled them in for years.
Yeah, the Royal Mail survey is pointless. I doubt they even read any of the comments. I also don't understand why management get a bonus for getting X amount of posties to fill it in. If it's to make sure Royal Mail get as much feedback as possible then why not just give posties an extra £5 or so for filling it in. Why give money to a manager? it's madness. Surely managers should only get a bonus based on good feedback....makes me think the survey is just a test to see how compliant/submissive staff are in doing what the manager wants. If a manager can control his/her staff and get them to do this survey, then they are deemed a good manager and therefore high turnout = bonus.

Anyway, this thread is about the CWU survey which I recommend doing. The Royal Mail survey I don't bother doing as nothing improves.

I got an e-mail from the union saying it was the last chance to fill the survey before it closes tomorrow, so I dug out my membership card and gave it both barrels. There doesn't appear to be a character limit on the 'what one thing could be done different?' so I made sure to go on at length about how that is an absurd question to pose to people facing an entire plague of problems on delivery.

Oh, and more Saturdays off please because I sure as hell don't want longer deliveries and I didn't join to be an Evri driver once a week :evil/mad
The machine stops.

Noon of the proposed options for the changes are good. It's like choosing a s**t sandwich but there's several difference types of s**t. Whatever you choose you're still eating s**t

No part of their bonus depends on the number of people who do the RM survey. Their bonus depends on other 'blended metrics' (whatever that means). They do, however, get beatings from above if not many surveys are completed. It's not a carrot, it's a stick.

I agree, the RM survey is pointless. Its objective is twofold. One, RM gets to say that they have 'engaged with their staff', which is perhaps useful for propaganda reasons. The other reason is for them to determine how many people are 'not getting' certain messages. So for instance if you reply to the question about feeling valued with a 1 and say the pay is inadequate and the workload imbalanced and excessive, your unit will receive more corporate bollocks down the line trying to convince you that you're really well rewarded.
