Maybe DO staff will quit or retire then?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025, 20:01No surplus any more. For any supernumaries in DOs after all this, they'll be made to move to a new DO

Your point is probably correct how many do staff could bear being in a mc being watched all day.works both ways.Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025, 20:37My point still stands.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025, 20:12RM don't want people on "legacy" contracts in DOs. So the issue with the supernumeraries in mail centres is there is no issue
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Most people just call any casuals/agency casuals. They're still getting plenty of shifts, many daily.Sean06 wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025, 22:33Don,t know where you work space but no (casuals in our mc) agency yes but last month or so they are getting very little shifts.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025, 20:12RM don't want people on "legacy" contracts in DOs. Don't think it'll be an issue for much longer in DOs with the turnover rate of staff in DOs being mentioned in various threads. If it ends up with too many people in a DO, they'll just get moved to a new office. Being moved to a new office AFAIK is standard for supernumeraries in RMAcca Dacca wrote: ↑20 Feb 2025, 00:09So the issue with the supernumeraries in mail centres is there is no issue

Its not in my contract ( pre 2009 ) that I can be moved to any DO permanently

Re: More vr's
Pre or post 2009 contract is irrelevant. Anyone who is declared a supernumerary WILL be moved to a new office if there isn't room at their current one, your other choice is your P45.

You would have enough seniority not to be moved anyway.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑20 Feb 2025, 10:26It would need to be the newer staff getting moved thoughSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Feb 2025, 06:59Most people just call any casuals/agency casuals. Re: More vr's
If it hadn't been for RM being able to find space for them on other shifts, they would have had no choice. It would have been either move to another office or "here's your P45". I started in the very early 2000s and my contract I'm fairly sure mentions working at any office, that clause has probably been in everyone's contracts for many yearsAcca Dacca wrote: ↑20 Feb 2025, 12:07I dont think you understand how employment law works SpacersSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Feb 2025, 10:37Pre or post 2009 contract is irrelevant.
