A bit farcical for RM to be insisting it's now a parcels company and doing everything possible to sideline and streamline the letters side of the business yet still accepting these infuriating bloody leaflets.

They take a huge amount of prep time if you have 4,5,6 lots.

D2D's was one of the main reasons I quit the job, I absolutely hated them and as a Leave Reserve I swear they would follow me around from week to week.

I could guarantee whichever duty I was on in any given week that duty would have the most D2D's in that section, everyone else in the section would have 1 or 2 but whichever round I was covering would have at least 4.

I always ask if anyone is covering and ask them to do it- in any case, the frame should at least be prepped by someone even if it’s not going out, so they should still be put them in.

We just take where we are going, I did a row and a bit Saturday, then had 20 mins ish today and did another row. They will be all in the frame come Saturday, hopefully can finish them off tomorrow (only got 2 lots this week as opposed to bloody 4 last week) and just roll them over constantly until they are all delivered.

Given even on a busy day only around 50% of customers get mail then that needs you are needlessly visiting the other 50% on the loop(s) with D2D's, where's the logic in making work for yourself?

The CWU need to pull their finger out and get RM to work with the D2D companies to make all D2D items machinable with an address but no addressee. RM could then tie it into the DTS system to release a certain % or certain DPs everyday. It could also be tied into the opt-out list

Takes longer putting D2Ds in the frames and then tying up leaving some in the frame - that’s a waste of time!

It won't happen because it'll make them more expensive for the businesses involved, which will mean less profit for them.

In our office the part timers only deliver D2Ds the full timers preps them into both frames

I guess it depends if your round is flats and terraces or houses with big drives. I wouldn’t want to do more than 2 sets loose out of the bag tho.
