and it's not come back to bite them if they then step out of line in the future, if you report anything via the app you're clearly going to identify yourself to somebody in the business.

Reporting fraud by management, manager was swiftly removed from the office and regular visits from a compliance chap to teach the replacement how to correctly count (and we finally appeared on the service disruption list)

Bullying and harassment... investigations ongoing (can't comment more beyond my anonymity is absolutely being maintained)

Breaches of H+S, finally got some proper risk assessments done

Unsafe working conditions..ok this was an email directly to Moya Greene long before the app was invented but after weeks of being shrugged off by our manger who was probably being shrugged of by ROMEC just 24 hours later the building was flooded with H&S and engineers fixing the problem.
The manager complained that I had embarrassed him but nothing nasty)

And the one that might have put a small back mark to my name was to the new CEO on her first official day with RM (and then to the ROD who I had a good back and forth with)... contributed the 2.0/2.1 revision paused in August, got the building flooded with H&S people, and local management finally having to engage with the CWU.

Point is, it's hopeless to complain about the problems to the problems
And absolutely useless to not complain at all.

If you truly believe something is going wrong, be the "I want to speak to your manager's manager's manager" person.

If you are reporting wrongdoing (the 4th page you get to) you can have a choice on you level of anonymity, I chose the option that I could be contacted if the investigator had any questions.
The contact was actually with an intermediary via email who asks you questions on behalf of the investigator and feeds your answers back.
I believe the more open option was to be able to be contacted directly by the investigator.
Due to some personal circumstances on my end it was easier for me to request the investigator contact me directly for an interview. No one in the office have any idea that the visits from the "Regional Quality...
(whatever their job title was)" Has anything to do with me.

Every email gives you details on what to do if you feel you are experiencing retaliation for for speaking up.

We know we can't rely on the people we are with day to day, but if anything is to change we have to start putting a bit of faith in the other people

Good Post OG :thumbup

I think anyone with any expeirience of working for Royal Mail understands that there's some kind of ''Glass Ceiling'' which used to be impossible to break through with any kind of complaint. There's several levels of Management all trying to cover their own arses, and pass the buck at the same time. :no no

Our Manager (whose a very Old School Bullshitter) often comes out with, ''I've been working really hard to keep you guys below the radar so you don't get any shite from my Boss'' I think we all know what he really means. Perhaps this ''Raising a Concern'' option will help break through this ''Glass Ceiling'' because we all know it's this kind of lying about reporting figures, and failures, that's ruining the business and making it impossible for us to do the job properly. :cuppa

OP - If he is complaining that you are slow...tell him to do one and get another partner.
You will go at your pace he does not like it - tough

The biggest rule that some posties like breaking is starting 2 hours early UNPAID. Some of them have got all their D2Ds neatly prepped in their frames and are constantly backwards and forwards clearing their own packets while others are piled high on Yorks. Honestly, if I were the boss I would be looking to give them extra work to do if they are that keen to come in and work for FREE!! :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

If they had an accident in the building that amount of time before their official start time, would the insurance cover them?

That isn’t a rule laid down by the employer though! The OP was stating misdemeanours that their colleague is doing that go against RM’s job remit.

Don't they indirectly get extra work, as they have no issues clearing their round each day so they get extra during any revisions?

Why don't management just say that if anybody wants to start early they must do IPS not go anywhere near their frames?

The revisions have just been pulled in our office and I agree with you - managers should be pulling these people up to either prep other people's frames or do a bit of IPS. They rarely do because they don't want the grief that comes with it.

Unfortunately there are lots of abusive morons working as posties. I started on a heavy shared duty and got zero support. There was no discussion about the flow of the frame, where loops began and ended or who was doing what. Upon questioning, the response was that I was very lucky to even have 2 days of training as he got none when he started all those years ago. The final answer was to just get on with it :arrrghhh. Yeah ok then, I'll just bundle up anything and place in random bags then, but be warned that some of what I'm doing is some of YOUR loops so don't complain once you start your walk and realise the disorganised mess.

The company should be training new starters on walks shared by people who actually want to teach and train others and not be those who clearly have no communication skills, an inability to train, and who are passive aggressive.
