Xmas will be a disaster and finally cement us as the worst delivery company in the UK,if i was an online retailer id give this s**t company a wide berth.

I dunno about everyone else, but the mail and parcel volume has gone through the roof for us over the past 3 weeks. Regularly having 50+ tracked for my round. When it's this busy I can actually only deliver 2/3rds of my round and that's with me taking none of the tracked.

We are going to be absolutely screwed.

No day-off cover.
Half of the new staff tend to resign within days or weeks.
Mail and tracked is going to be ridiculous in December.

I can only hope they at least up the number of agency workers.

As of the 18th Royal mail are not employing agency workers.

Is that nationally or locally? And is that from the 18th of September?

Is that just deliveries only?

If this ends up applying to MCs as well, once packets really pick up we might well have to sacrifice the walk sequencing to free up staff to sort packets. We might well just end up effectively sending all the mech mail as manual. If only we hadn't lost some staff as a result of the realignment

If mech mail is sacrificed and sent as manual then the time taken up by processing it on IPS by delivery staff will simply mean that we'll have to sacrifice delivering even more stuff than we are expecting to before we go home on time. Few people in delivery worry about this stuff anymore.

That'll f**k up the new walk prep processes that were supposed to be implemented (by now?) saving everyone a massive 30 mins per day1

Yup I stopped giving a s**t yonks ago, I did no o.t for the first year ever last Christmas and plan on doing the same this year. Been working to time since I came back from 2 weeks leave, not interested anymore, start and finish time, that's it for me!
