Working in a MC is far more dangerous than on delivery.

I can only think you're trolling because that is blatantly not true.

There are roughly 100 people in my DO in the morning working in far closer proximity than in any Mailcentre section in a far smaller area.

These members then share a van with other members in most cases in a very unhygienic space.

Then they interact with all kinds of surfaces and customers while their immune system is depressed through fatigue and weather conditions.

Then there are the added risks from slips, trips and falls in places and conditions where no safety rep has ventured, dogs, junkies, vehicles, falling pianos etc...

The potential risks on delivery are pretty much endless because pretty much anything can and will happen in the outside world whereas the dangers in a Mailcentre are known and therefore should be contained.

Yet your a cheer leader for the deal that the union struck, I myself have attended work this week with a stinking cold , have infected a close working colleague who is now coughing and spluttering because I cannot afford to go sick just in case I get sick later in the year, all because I won’t get paid for any second absence I have if I’m unlucky to get contract a virus etc. you reap what you sow !

Its only 2 days you don't get paid.

Masks help to reduce the spread of many things, that's why surgeons wear them when they're slicing you up. Of course it would have helped a great deal more if people hadn't been wearing them as chin straps, nose bags or the same one for 6 weeks at a time. I can't believe we're still having this conversation to be honest.

Crims use them now to shoplift. While I do accept they are like face hankies why do people still leave them in vans?
