Jehova's Witnesses are a good example. Would you feel allright delivering their door to door? We can't help delivering stamped mail for them, but door to door is something different. It was designed for business mostly, and Royal Mail can refuse their service if they think it's not quite right. They can't refuse a stamped letter. The booklets we are delivering this week are from Child Evangelism Fellowship. I'm just not feeling good helping them target children with their religious propaganda.yellowbelly wrote: ↑30 Dec 2022, 17:19Are you ok delivering 'Gold group' parcels?m666123 wrote: ↑30 Dec 2022, 09:19Royal Mail do control what customers might receive, on their guidelines document regarding door to door it clearly says we won't deliver anything that could be embarrassing either to us, customers or Royal Mail. Delivering some brainwashing religious propaganda is embarrassing to me, we are not Jehova Witnesses.
What about the Salvation Army D2D's that normally go out before Christmas?
During Covid, JW continually pushed out letters addressed to 'The Occupant' as they couldn't go knocking, with little
JW related 'icons' in them (must have cost them a fortune) - but we still delivered them.
A lot of stuff we deliver, whether it's D2D or actual post/parcels could be offensive/embarrassing to us as an individual
but we're paid to deliver. If you feel strongly enough about it, raise it with your management.

Re: Religious door to door
No, unless it's extreme or hateful, I would never help e.g. BNP get more voters. But political leaflets are a part normal democratic process. I mentioned earlier that what we deliver this week is from Child Evangelism Fellowship - they target children not adults, it has nothing to do with politics. I probably should have mentioned that earlier, but for me it doesn't really matter whether they are targeting children or adults, it's equally wrong. And I think Royal Mail shouldn't be helping them in their brainwashing campaign.scoobydo79 wrote: ↑30 Dec 2022, 17:42Do You feel the same at election time with political leaflets?

Well I definitely wouldn't condone the BNP,do they still exist? However I would prefer to engage if possible to learn why they think the way they do. Prohibition, censorship, canceling as seems to be a thing does nothing but to drive things away from the mainstream, they will still exist and probably fester. Anyhoo we all think differently and as long as that's allowed it's all good eh

Re: Religious door to door
I'm new here...but had my very first post censored
- rightly so, probably. Having a good trawl around this site I'd say that the BNP is very much alive and kicking! Also it's distressing to see evidence of that modern day scourge - relativism. There are at least a couple of regular posters who bang on about having different opinions
as if that's the reason why they should shut the f*ck up. It's not because you have a so-called different opinion, it's because you're desperate for attention and wish to wind up people. And if I were to call them pathetic individuals with undiagnosed personality disorders, then I'd be accused of name calling (not seeing the irony that I'm simply offering my opinion). Anyhoo, indeed.
At the end of the day you are just postmen [sic].You deserve nothing more than what's been offered and probably a lot less.

From the first comment in this topic:
"I know we deliver political propaganda before elections, but we are paid separately for that, and - as far as I know - we have right to refuse"
Is this true? I'm linked with a certain political side and volunteer my time to help them out. I feel like Judas taking silver when I deliver for the other side.
Especially when the baddie side is better funded, so I delivered a lot more for the opposition than for my side. My ancestors would not be proud.
As for the BNP - our depot was delivering Tommy Robinson leaflets last election. I could feel the bad karma growing on me. Don't think they mentioned BNP though.
Can we choose not to deliver certain election material and not be paid for it?

Re: Religious door to door
Regardless of our opinions or beliefs we should absolutely be neutral. We are delivering a service and a absolute vital one. Cant we just be adults and deliver and do our jobs? I would happily deliver opposite political partiescheerful wrote: ↑30 Dec 2022, 19:30From the first comment in this topic:

Yes the answer is the same, but there may be unintended consequences such as being taken off your duty to allow the leaflets to be delivered by someone else.
