Simon is not telling the truth when he says everything is cleared in the mail centres the parcels are caught up somewhere in the system my daughter is waiting on 5 parecels from royal mail no sign of them they are hidden in trailers and warehouses around the country more bullshit from royal mail
I don't work for RM but it sounds as if you/the union might have tried putting some Apple Airtags or similar in the post and tracking them to delivery.. to see where they are delayed
hahaha you are overthinking it. We have seen it all stored off.

What backlog? We're all clear, even taken diversions in from other MCs
Ahhh, I love a Christmas miracle.

We know the mail/parcels are stashed somewhere. The next week is going to be brutal.

Yeah I haven’t received my stamps either so I know that my local delivery office is rammed because the only thing they were delivering in the two weeks before we went off for IA on 23rd was any parcels I’d ordered.

If it is stashed somewhere, DOs will enjoy the big jump in manual letters as we won't be allowed to roll any left-over mech to the next day so if a batch as 20+ boxes left over at the end of wave 1, we've only the time to walk sort 3, maybe 4 boxes during wave 2, the rest will have to go to DOs as manual.

The big indicator will be whether we have any Xmas casuals in Wednesday night. If we don't and we get hammered on Tracked, normal packets and SDs then likely all the mech will get sent out as manual as all mech staff will be needed on Tracked, normal parcels and in the SD locker if they're SD locker trained

I have a feeling we're going to have our busiest post-Christmas workload ever after we drag our sorry souls back in on Wednesday. It will probably feel like Christmas pressure. No matter what that idiots says about clear centre's and hubs...there is a backlog waiting to feed through. Yet more excuses we're going to have to give joe-public for their 2-3 week delayed parcels and mail. We are always first in the firing line, not that Thompson with his bodyguards around him.

The amount of tracking items I checked for customers before we broke up for strikes where stuff had flat out vanished says you're wrong. You may well have cleared whatever got to your MC, but there isn't a chance in s**t you got everything. sh***s missing from late November with unnerving frequency.
There is always one who has to be different or special
We've not had any backlog from any of the strikes, it's just been normal Xmas Pressure stuff, even that has been noticeably down, with us scratching around for work a few times. Xmas cards have been way down on what they were last year. We've been taking in diversions from other MCs on and off

Just with the strike in 2007 relegated Paper Billing to the trash can of history.
With Direct Debit

The Strikes of 2022 will relegate the Christmas Card to the Dustbin of history.

Well it’s ok we’re a Parcel company now…..😆

On the contrary, I’m just about to use a few of my Christmas stamps which finally arrived today, to send Simon some late Christmas cards to remind him of what we do.

Are paper bills a thing of the past? Many of my customers get them, I prefer them as I don't constantly check my emails so would probably miss them and I dont do direct debit either, once burnt and all that

Today I got home and there was a letter on my doormat.

I opened it up and it was the RM propaganda letter dated 15th December.

The first line was something like "As Christmas approaches, we know how worried you all are about your future"

So it only took RM two weeks to deliver it.

Good show!
