Has an affect for the next office down the line be it a MC or DO as stuff would have to go out on pallets? Do you want all the mail incoming to your MC to be coming in on pallets?

Unfortunately I don’t think the majority care how mail arrives anymore. Dump it all at the gates and have a manager ask us to carry it in, makes no difference to me, I’ll do as told until it’s clocking off time.

My manager is paid 3 times as much as me and is paid to deal with problems, be it not enough vans, not enough bags, someone taking van keys home with them when it’s their day off.

I used to care, I’d cancel stamps, do that bit extra for myself/the customer, I’d clear the s**t that gets left in vans, I’d inform a manager if someone had accidentally left a van window down in the yard after returning at the end of their shift (happens surprisingly often!).

No more.

I actually had a manager say to me ‘can’t you just use it for today? We don’t have any spare vans, and what do you possibly expect me to do about it’ when I logged off a van yesterday morning due to a brake light being out. As always, I sat in the canteen prepping D2Ds until she came up with a solution.
