Re: Do you still have overtime in your office?
Are there agency working at your place? Sounds like RM playing silly buggers and then they’ll turn round and say we are losing £1M a day strike or no strike but blame us when they’ve only got themselves to blame through gross miss management.jbo5066 wrote: ↑15 Oct 2022, 13:28A first for our office today in this dispute - told no overtime being payed today, everyone back by finish time, make sure you do your tracked .. Re: Do you still have overtime in your office?
Lots of overtime at my office, seems strange some offices have banned and others not. Even with the overtime the office still can't be cleared. Works piling up out the door. Bring on the cuts if they think it will solve the problem.

Up until yesterday our office was like that - as much OT as you want, work your day off to pay for strikes ...

Same at our hovel of an office.
Work your days off if you want to (I never do)
90% of our walks/rural deliveries are too big,so extended delivery every day if you want it. (Most days I cut off or leave it in my frame. Might do a couple of hours a week if I feel like it).
IPS available every day as well.

Even before the strikes, don't know about other shifts in the smae or other MCs but without the use of OT, SA or agency/casuals we'd be well and truly f**ked every shift

Re: Do you still have overtime in your office?
Our COM likes to make snide comments in Worktime Learning etc about people finishing early and generally implying we’re all somehow taking the piss (at least thats how it comes across to me).
Yet the reality for me is most days i go over by 30mins-1 hour, apart from most Monday and Tuesdays, and when i sign the overtime sheet at the end of the day its full of “extended delivery”.
He also pays multiple people overtime to come in at 3 or 4am on IPS, usually 6-10 people, every single day, and has done for years.
There are probably 20-30 people who work all of their days off.
There are 4/5 guys who regularly double up, getting paid 6 hours to do so (and sometimes leave a loop or 2 in the frame but still get the 6 hours
).
There are also a couple of guys who take their van home every single day, saving themselves fuel and parking costs (and they both live 10+ miles away).
If you do lots of overtime you can do what you like, because the place soon capitulates without people doing it.

Re: Do you still have overtime in your office?
Overtime ban has just been imposed at our office for extended delivery, day off and IPS for the duration of the rolling strikes. I think LATs are still going out as it stands. Managers are saying just take what you can and finish on time as it’s out of their hands and is nationwide. Are Royal Mail doing the unions work for them or are they trying to test the resolve of those (particularly part timers) in more vulnerable financial situations. I’m just looking forward to seeing the state of the place after a week.

Overtime stopped in my office plenty of sad faces. I never did it anyway so whatever. I just work my contracted hours as usual.

Can't see why not, everyone involved including myself was asked by management to work their days off, I worked mine today.Iva bigredbag wrote: ↑26 Oct 2022, 15:45Will they get paid for it next week?
