I'm not a legal bod

Royal Mail will likely be scrutinising your grievance and covering all their tracks so that they are not liable to unlawful dismissal. That is why you're probably receiving zero payslips.
Not sure an ex employee can claim unfair dismissal after just one week's work, plus RM will no doubt stick to the fact they "resigned" rather than be dismissed, they'll probably also be preparing a long list of the errors they made.

This is purely hypothetical, but I think it'll be the day you missed on the Friday thats been what has made their minds up ( the likelihood is they didnt believe you about your friend and thought they were in for a load of future sickies )

After that they will have been working out best way to let you go.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Have you ever heard of a full-stop or comma before? That was a hard read.

The guy/lady has been through a very traumatic experience, I don't think being clever about their written skills is particularly helpful. I agree that the arguments need framing well so the case can be addressed properly.
For what its worth maybe you could get a friend to go through what you want to say and help you write it so that it is easier to follow and gets your points across well.
I'd also try Citizens Advice (or whatever the equivalent is now). They may even be able to get you some proper legal assistance as my guess is that what the DOM has done is probably illegal - claiming you resigned when you didn't.
Anyway, good luck and do email Simon. It will make them take a lot more notice if you mention the words 'seeking legal advice'. HR departments tend to s**t themselves when the hear those three little words.

I got my P45 though the door today from hr the reason they said I left was voluntary resignation. lying though the teeth again when they was adamant they had to let me go,
as I guessed claiming benifits would be difficult now they have said I voluntary resigned .is there no policy with royal mail what your have to put it in writing what you resigning otherwise anyone who's face don't fit they could just turn round and say that they resigned it's ridiculous.
