I hear you brother.glass joe wrote: ↑04 Nov 2022, 09:07I dont blame people for milking the ghost if they can get it all here to make a wage. I hate ghost overtime is a thing, having the worst walk in the office while others can finish 2 hours before me working by themselfs. bang another round out get paid 4-6 hours and finish the same time as me or hour later and get paid soo much more.

We’ll see.Tman wrote: ↑03 Nov 2022, 22:15Why would you think it would or could be any different?
The days of getting paid three hours O/T but finishing after two are over....scan in and out has seen to that.
Why do think RM have installed it?
RM must have been the only firm which didn't expect employees to work the O/T hours they were being paid for.
If the higher ups want to cut the work force by 10,000 - and managers will still want to clear an office because their bonuses depend on that - overtime deals above being paid ‘time worked’ will still be required.
On a side note - I do, however, wonder if this issue of overtime has come to a head because of the holiday pay situation.
I myself have done a fair bit of overtime over the past 18 months and the sums received have been quite decent (employed on a part time contract but work full time hours).
Given 25/30 hours contracts were the norm for hiring over the last few years I wouldn’t be surprised if my situation is replicated many times over and that at the last half yearly payment point (before the switch in payment method) there was an almighty bump to the wage bill.

As for taking the van home- the most shocking thing to me is that he doesnt even return to the office after finishing, he just drives straight home. Ive never known what he does with his collected mail and its always intrigued me - is he just bringing it in the next morning? If so, surely this is not right?!!
If he will now be forced to physically clock out in the building everyday, like the rest of us, its going to be interesting to see how things pan out and if the doubling up will stop.

Re: Scan in and out
Anyone know if they can use your scan-out times against you yet? Eg, if I go home half hour early tomorrow, then later in the week I can’t get round one day, can they say “well you owe us half hour from Tuesday so you can’t cut-off”?

Eventually. I wouldn't put it past them. Siso may become a back door annualised hours ...nightcrawler wrote: ↑14 Nov 2022, 20:29Anyone know if they can use your scan-out times against you yet? More basic than that. The manager could ask "why did you go home half an hour early?" just as any other employer would.nightcrawler wrote: ↑14 Nov 2022, 20:29Anyone know if they can use your scan-out times against you yet? Like many things in R.M. you can get away with it for so long until somebody from above decides to take a closer look. Take the Trimble system in your van for example. When did you last hear of someone being warned about their driving ?. Possibly because it isn't checked quite so often.

Definitely seeing a lot of people back hanging around the office until official finish time whereas before they would be home. Not really sure what they are trying to prove as all they are showing is how quickly they can do their duty and then stand at fitting for 45 mins. The last item you scan on the street doesn't lie.
Then the usual suspects trying to game the system, as with every hurdle RM put in front of people they see it as some kind of challenge.

We've a few duties who don't return to the office. They only have 9am boxes so they empty them and put them in the nearest late box where it gets collected by the late collection man.mjd24 wrote: ↑04 Nov 2022, 08:58

My old office probably had one of the largest areas in the country to cover with over 240 square miles. The furthest delivery point from the office was 40 miles.

Yeah, like I say, they are still actively advertising the fact they have plenty of spare time on their hands. Like scanning out exactly on time negates the fact they've been driving back into the yard 1hr early every day for years.....Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑15 Nov 2022, 15:56Pointless, the pda reports back that you have returned when u drive in the yard.Cucumber wrote: ↑15 Nov 2022, 15:15Definitely seeing a lot of people back hanging around the office until official finish time whereas before they would be home. Re: Scan in and out
It's not pointless if you come back 1 minute early or 1 hour early. It just shows the duty can be done either on time or more needs to be added on.Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑15 Nov 2022, 15:56Pointless, the pda reports back that you have returned when u drive in the yard.Cucumber wrote: ↑15 Nov 2022, 15:15Definitely seeing a lot of people back hanging around the office until official finish time whereas before they would be home. If you can back an hour early and scan out on time it shows that you could of been prepping d2d for that hour or doing some other indoor work. But then again you could be doing nothing, hanging about until your clocking out time, and this is where management need to find out who is coming back early and tell them to do work somewhere in the office.
If I come back early it's not my job to chase after a manager and ask for more work. I think the days of being REALLY efficient in the job are gone. Just be efficient but don't be too good at your job, as everyone gets paid the same (apart from management).

Re: Scan in and out
Quickly oh er!
Do you get docked wages if you scan out like 3 mins early? I've been told you do by a Manager but he is known to tell lies!
