Usual drop-off in mail starting early? I think the drop-off in mail volumes will be a lot more this year with the cost of living crisisclashcityrocker wrote: ↑16 May 2022, 16:51Today was very light on letters.
Very light on parcels.
We have no D2D this week.

No need, i see the direction the world is going in and its not great. Just a matter of when and how to find the exit.scoobymunster wrote: ↑17 May 2022, 15:09Please talk to someone. This morning I looked at the two numpties in charge of our office and it dawned on me it really would be better to leave.

Exhausting, long, physically drained. Long weekend coming up which yet again will be spent recovering from working last 8 out of 9 days and dreading going back next Tuesday to 5 days in a row.
This job is insane.

One of those days today where we were non stop but didn’t get much done in terms of loops. A lot of the time I had to rush off and do large and specials. Frustrating day

I looked at 4 numpties on my PC at around 9am-I then went and had a lie down.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑18 May 2022, 14:44This morning I looked at the two numpties in charge of our office and it dawned on me it really would be better to leave.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Very Mellow day!
Sun was shining, my knees weren't playing up (must be the warm weather) and I only had to book 45mins Pressure. It was almost like the Duty should be.
Pity I had to book 2 hours Pressure yesterday (obviously because the mail's so ridiculously light at this time of the year ... yeah right).

It wasn't a good day for the snails. (Crunch crunch)

So few letters, but more than made up for by silly amount of parcels, no chance of time for any lapsing.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Letters more like typical modern Tuesday volumes, but parcels still through the roof, no time for lapsing on a 7 hour day with 30mins meal relief.
Hopefully that's us caught up with the double bank hol backlog and Wednesday will just be the usual silly workload to squeeze into a ~7.6 hours day, since the hours reduction to 37. If they ask/expect us to lapse I'll be laughing again, this time last year Weds were 8.5 hours.
Where are they getting the crazy idea we can lapse this summer with reduced daily contract hours compared to a year ago, while now having to mess around with parcel collections and taking all those Tracked photos?

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Getting used to people signing for stuff again!
Combine that with photographing all the Tracked, and having to explain why people are getting 739s again (and what do do with them... "Just read the bloody card and follow the instructions")
I get the feeling I'm just an impatient bastard.
