Thank goodness the weekend is here, another day of no chance of completing everything within contract hours, out too late for Xmas parcelgeddon to deliver letters for second half of van share.

Trays of unsorted letters.
Yorks of undelivered parcels.
Frames full of undelivered cards.

Apparently Lateral Flow test kits are out of stock to order online for us to deliver (but you can pop into a pharmacy to get them and they have plenty of stock), not surprised going on the amount of test kits we had to deliver today, most I can remember on one day since the pandemic began in March 2020.

Not even close to having time to deliver all letter loops with parcels... Again.

I delivered all the post and finished on time for the first time in weeks...but I had somebody deliver all my oversized parcels today. I don’t expect this to happen again until after Christmas.
Just goes to show how essential it is to have dedicated parcel delivery people at this time of the year. I actually came home without my morale shot to pieces today.

He told MPs: "There is no shortage of actual tests that are held by UKHSA. There are tens of millions of tests... the issue, the limiting factor because of the hugely increased demand... is the ability to deliver the tests and having enough capability to deliver the tests because the current arrangements with Royal Mail alone are not enough.

"There are new arrangements that I've reached with Amazon and other delivery methods."
My money would be on Amazon then getting RM to deliver them

I came across this on the Royal Mail Chat Facebook account a short while ago which made me chuckle:

Just a little update on the situation regarding a fellow postie, because some of you have been pretty concerned.

He's taken going to jail pretty hard and he's refusing all food, spitting and screaming at everyone and is threatening violence at anyone who comes near him.

He's even smeared the walls with feces and is refusing to wear clothes.

As an office, we're united in our approach to this situation and have decided not to play Monopoly with him anymore.

And to think you can actually collect them from the Chemists .... for FREE!

But then of course you have to get off your fat arse and actually walk somewhere. :Boo hoo! Clever Trick of RM to make them all Tracked so we have to deliver them if nothing else. Think I may test the water and bring a few back.... see what they say. :cuppa

oops, did that today, on van share, cut off two loops and van driver said "all yours," 2 mins before finish time, took back two packet bags of tracked for the two loops cut off, first time i have failed on "live tracked" but what can you do ? driver needs the van, and to his credit clears all the oversize in a corsa combi van, we can't both use it at the same time ! went out again with bags, trays in the front on my lap. laughable :arrrghhh

Check an hour before u cut off what tracked you have left rather than 2 mins before. Better still put all tracked for the loops you think might be a risk in a tray before you leave the office so u know what you have.
