Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Had some guy moaning because we don't auto redeliver Specials the next day, as i failed to turn up with said parcel. I even suggested i'd sort out the redelivery for him tomorrow, save him going online. But no, he's off to go collect it. Must be hard being retired and having 2 million £ worth of house, land and cars. So hard he couldn't wait in for his important parcel yesterday.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
We have a line manager who keeps putting up little coloured charts each day that are supposed to represent our indoor workplan.
They are such a pile of crap it is embarrassing. Apparently if anyone criticises them he has a little hissy fit.
I think his grand daughter might be sitting at home with some crayons producing them.
Only in RM could someone be getting a manager's wage for reproducing the work of a 6 year old.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Here’s a good one.
Got to work, asked manager what I was on today for him to say it’s my day off without being told this yesterday. What an absolute piss take.
That’s the final straw with me. Once I find a new job I’m off

I had three coworkers tell me today they've had enough and are looking to jump ship. One of them is looking into working for a competitor, while another is thinking of training for an HGV license.Wolf91 wrote: ↑22 Sep 2021, 23:38seriously? Re: The "How was your day" thread.
So there's this resident in an apartment building, right, and I called him on the intercom to come downstairs to collect a recorded item.
Now as we're both standing in the foyer (and I'm entering his name on my PDA before signing it with "XP1"), he frantically says to me, "Can you please hurry up, because I've left the small pot on the stove."
Cheez Whiz, man! What if you locked yourself out of your apartment?

I think you will find the correct procedure for signed for items is for you to take it to his door.PostmanBitesDog wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021, 19:04So there's this resident in an apartment building, right, and I called him on the intercom to come downstairs to collect a recorded item.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Today we had a WTLL and the DOM explained to us his plan to have the office cleared by 6/11.
Build a bonfire Build a bonfire
Put the households on the top
Put the Non Tracked in the middle
And we'll burn the bloody lot.

He's missed a 'trick' then, because there could have been some 'treats' on 31/10.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑05 Oct 2021, 16:03Today we had a WTLL and the DOM explained to us his plan to have the office cleared by 6/11.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
for the last three weeks i've been told they're not paying overtime in the morning so come in at normal time.
then when i come in at normal time not even households have been chucked in, so i have to fully prep it all.
then i have to find the hire van which might as well be parked on the moon
end up leaving the office at half 10/11.
yesterday was the straw that broke the camel's back. the xmas panic buying has started at ours. 1.5 yorkies of drive rounds yesterday. all of it from shops with high street outlets. people are the worst. if you include the packets and flats that also populate the frames on a wednesday, I had about 80 parcels, plus the usual wednesday mail. that was horrible.
every postie around me was celebrating a windfall from Backpay-gate. except for me. I was 20-30 mins short that one month.
then i find out i'm the only one with a massive volume of packets. everyone else is fairly quiet.
everything that could go badly went badly yesterday. it was probably my worst day to be a postie.
got done by 3:45 by leaving a couple of the smaller loops in.
off for a week with stress now.
I applied to transfer to a different office near me, with more hours, more reliable start times. according to the success factors website I have been hired, but the hiring manager is out of the office until this monday coming, so will hear back then.
