I'm sure one of my colleagues called me a "clever cat" today and I found it harassing, so I think I'm entitled to a few hundred thousand pounds compensation. :whistle

The Guardian (Jan. 6, 2021) ~ Royal Mail Ordered to Pay £230,000 to Harassed Ex-Worker
The real insult here is to every stressed, bullied, overworked and tired postie still working for RM. :cry
And to those who've been fired because a member of the public saw a postie answering nature's call. :whistle

Daily Mail (Jan. 7, 2021):
Postman Who Was Unfairly Sacked by Royal Mail for Urinating on his Round Wins Almost £40,000 After Tribunal Heard 'There is Not a Post Person Alive Who Has Not Had To'

I had to take a pee the other day behind a customer's rose bush and I'm sure the nosy old lady next door saw me, so I think I'm entitled to £37,720 as compensation for paranoia and sleepless nights. :angel

Absolute shambles at ours at the moment. 4 people each with 20+ Years in have called it a day since Xmas. 2 new starters gone as well leaving 1 of the 8 recruited less than 12 months ago remaining. Others near retirement age also considering there options now they have seen their mates go. Managements solution, summer lapsing and a couple of agency guys who apparently only get 4 hours a day. If they get 2 bags done it’s a result as only the mech is chucked in for them. Think I might have to consider my own options as it’s going south fast.

I’m actually thinking of a different career too. Been a shambles since I started in August. Waiting for vans, then the vans are s**t and broken (always have engine lights on). Overtime not being paid even tho Iv asked multiple times. Royal Mail are so behind other couriers, they need to modernise ASAP. Iv had enough of the job tbh.

Manager called me in once as there was a van for me, got there, no van. His solution.. take ur own car? No way! What a joke and an embarrassment of management.
I'm leaving in September to start a HNC at my local college. Honestly sick of the job and how we are treated. Been here 2 years and feel like cannonfodder and just a number. Going to make my own way in a different career

I'm beginning to see more familiar RM Chat names over on the Royal Mail subreddit forum these days. Are we migrating to there now? :angel :whistle

Gotta say the last few days (maybe even weeks) have been pretty good.

Got taken aside one afternoon late december/earlier this month and asked if I want to come in early, double prep and then do a walk.

After 10 months of lockdown telling management I can complete and then some if you get me in early so there's no backlog for the next day, it's finally happened.

Feels good not being skint and not staying out till dark. Gone from 28 hour weeks to 40-45 hour weeks.

Don't know how long it'll last but I'm happily riding the wave.

The last few days have been utterly miserable with regards to the weather. Snow, sleet, ice. Trying to walk on icy pavements is a nerve-racking experience. :nervous

I need a hug. :cry

It’s probably people realising what a mess their personal finance is in due to the virus. Seen it more and more at ours lately, the posh houses still at near Xmas levels, the working class estates hardly any parcels now.

Voted no.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Special Deliveries through the roof today...we’d had a bit of a lull over the last week or so but they were back with a vengeance. The 4pm deadline helps, just hope the powers that be done decide to revert back to 1pm anytime soon.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.
