Worse Christmas Eve in 25 years, the old early finishes seem a lifetime away. Failures all over the office and cut offs galore. Oh and 5 York's of mail that didn't even get touched never mind sorted

Sarcastic thank you to the housing association for bulk posting on yet another Christmas Eve.

I am shattered, been coming home with legs humming. I end up trying to force myself to stay awake all through the evening, mind is half working because I am half asleep.

Don't think this is a long term job for me. I will find a way out. It's not just the tiredness it's the hassle of management. Why can't we just be trusted to take what we think is doable in our times instead of having a clueless, bullying manager tell us when they don't know the job, they don't know what letters or parcels your have for specific areas / houses. We do the jobs everyday, we know better than them.

Rammed.

Please tell me the MCs are clear and tomorrow will be the usual easy xmas eve, home early for a mince pie and 10 gallons of wine?
We did clear. It seems too quiet, makes me wonder if there's a s**tstorm coming with backlogged stuff coming through over the next week

Because of the 10% of piss taking lazy bastards they treat everyone the same, actually that’s not true the 10% will get work taken off them.

Anyway chin up mate. Everyone’s knackered and hopefully it will calm down in the coming months. Enjoy your days off, freshen up and see how it goes.

The last lorry driver on Xmas Eve told us the MC had cleared and everything was sorted. Was pretty busy so we concentrated on the packets & parcels so not all the cards were delivered.

Went in this morning but nobody was there.
Apparently it is a no service day.

Given that today is neither a Bank Holiday or a no service day we opened the CSP as usual.
Don't know if we should have. Nobody said not to.
4 customers in 4 hours for a total of 12 hours SA.

Oh and I got an Amazon delivery when I got home.

Yesterday 17 Yorks of mail failed to reach IPS, today that figure was just 14 Yorks. Several thousand Christmas cards still not delivered, unless people have decided to send them early for next year of course!

We had people on O/T yesterday evening and early this morning to try and clear the IPS backlog, had a Christmas card for most drops today, some had 4 or 5, hope we have nearly got rid of them as it’s becoming abit embarrassing.

Sounds familiar. If it was not for the backlog I would say it was fairly normal post Xmas Wednesday.

We have a backlog of xmas cards. Rolling yorks of holiday cats at the moment. Still deliveries not going out. Some roads not seen a letter delivery since before christmas eve. Oh and they asked us to absorb as well. You could not make it up really. :arrrghhh
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
